re: For the OT ballers, Brian Kelly’s house has hit the market. Can be yours for just $3.5m

I can’t afford it so my opinion doesn’t matter but I will say that if I could afford it I wouldn’t buy that house. I’ll also say that anyone who knows what the house looked like before can appreciate the work that was put into it to make it a little more palatable.

I see two different scenarios and I wish security video would be released.
1. The change was not slammed on the counter.
OR
2. The change was slammed on the counter after the customer did something to provoke that reaction from the cashier. A common feature of these disrespect stories is you never hear about the events leading up to the disrespect.

I never did understand why the black people do not invest in their own community. If opening a business in the black community is such a lucrative endeavor why not open a black owned convenience store so you don’t have to deal with disrespect.

You’re 100% correct. I rarely go into convenience stores. Usually it’s because I’m desperate to find a restroom or a bottle of water. Most of the time I have to wait for the cashier to finish typing a text then look at me like I came over to their home uninvited. The other scenario is they’re having a conversation on their earbuds and you don’t know if they’re talking to you or someone else. Most transactions in either scenario could be interpreted as disrespect to a white man but I don’t care. If I pissed them off by forcing them to work I’ll take that as a win.

This is why online shopping and grocery delivery are my preferred method. Leave the shite on my porch and neither of us have to be a victim of disrespect.

Good idea but they don’t seem to need it. If you go look at the google reviews they have 5 stars and many of the reviewers if not all of them are the same color as Gravy.
A man with a dark complexion. Some of the comments on Gravy’s Facebook are calling for ICE to deport the cashier.

I don’t know if it’s true or not. It’s what Gravy Chamber said in the video on his Facebook.
The craziest thing to me is I can’t remember ever giving a shite where the cashier placed my change when I went to a convenience store and paid with cash.

My understanding of many of the convenience store businesses owned by those of middle eastern or Indian descent is that they are staffed by family. If that is the case I wouldn’t be surprised if the owner also tells gravy to go f himself. Who knows if gravy even spoke to an owner.

Believe it or not the altercation started because the cashier disrespected a black man by putting his change on the counter rather than putting the change in the customer’s hand.

That had me chuckling. They’re so accustomed to the government paying for everything they think taxes pay for convenience stores.
There’s a video on his Facebook page. The cashier seems to be middle eastern in appearance. Everyone has fatigue.

The police were called on me last night because I spoke up to a cashier at the Express Mini Mart on Mickens Road.
I’ve been going to this store for years, like many people in this neighborhood. We pay taxes, yet the quality of retail options in our communities is still limited.
I address issues head-on. Allowing a younger cashier to disrespect a young Black man in this neighborhood can escalate in dangerous ways, and I wasn’t going to ignore it. Once the back-and-forth went too far, I asked them to call the owner. I stepped outside to my truck.
When I came back in to ask how long it would take, I was told 20 minutes. I said I wasn’t waiting that long and asked to speak to the owner by phone. I waited. Then I looked up and saw a deputy pull into the lot. I didn’t trip — I knew I was in the right.
That’s when the cashier started fast-talking, finger-pointing, acting alarmed. Full blown Karen shite.
I calmly explained the situation to the deputy. He tried to contact the store owner, but the cashier stalled before finally making the call. I got the owner’s number, and he needs to seriously consider his staffing.
Anyone who knows me knows I confront issues directly. I don’t back down because someone calls the police. I wasn’t breaking the law — you just didn’t like being checked.
End of the year or beginning of the year. Day or night. I’m consistent.
I bet he didn’t expect me to still be talking to his boss today.
Respect is the minimum. Especially when people spending their hard earned money. I have options, everybody in this area doesn’t. They will be respected.
She’s the mayor they deserve. Remember that they had a chance to recall her and they chose to keep her. Have fun, Teedy.
There are so many examples of things that do not work and it makes me wonder who is getting paid for these things that fail in a very short period of time.
For anyone who travels the atchafalaya basin bridge, have you ever seen the “Your Speed” signs working? Whose brother in law got a contract to install something that never worked?

FedEx is already second worst. I guess they’re going to make the USPS look good now.
re: Has anyone dealt with a sibling treating their own mother like shite due to their spouse?
Posted by altTD on 12/21/25 at 3:06 pm to shoelessjoe
In my family it’s caused by my mom trying to be helpful by meddling and telling her children and their spouse what they should or shouldn’t do. My mom is the smartest and has the most wisdom in the room that she happens to be in at any given time. Her helpful tips and comments have a way of making people feel judged and insulted even though she’s just trying to help. Some family members get upset. I just open up the archives and bring up some bad decision my mother made at some point in her life and humble her. The others just avoid her and she cannot understand why.
For Thanksgiving my SIL made a sweet potato casserole which was delicious. Everyone was saying how good it was. My mother asked how much salt did the recipe call for? SIL said 1/4 tsp. Mom said to try 1/2 tsp next time and it will be perfect.
I could give a million examples. Over time these little things beat people down to the point where they want nothing to do with the other person and it starts fracturing the entire family because everyone is almost forced to take a side. It’s hell.
