I know several people who have the Samsung flip/fold and they fricking hate it, there’s a massive crease in the middle of a screen that developed after a few weeks

Part me of wants to believe that Apple has all of this figured out and they were waiting for Samsung to do all of their product testing

Current iPhone pro maxes are between $1000-$1500. Not a huge price jump when the extra cost is spread out over an installment plan.

That being said, I've never been a fan of the folding devices. I don't need a phone that's twice as thick and will likely crease and more likely to break.

Ive been using a $40 samsung android I got at Walmart for 4 years. It's the first smart phone I've had. Prior to it, I had a flip phone.

I'm honestly suprised this cheap smart phone has lasted this long given the abuse It's taken.

Apple can eat a bag of dicks. I bought an original iPod and it wouldn't store/play anything I had not bought from thier stupid music store.

The only reason I upgraded from an iphone 13 to 16 was because AT&T was running a promo where they give a monthly bill credit that offset the monthly installment cost of the new phone. Basically a free upgrade as long as I stay with AT&T for 30 months.

New phone doesn’t do anything I need that the old one couldn’t do. So without that promo, I’d have still been using a 13. Only thing I may have done was paid Apple $100 to replace the battery if I had kept the old phone since the battery life degrades over a few years of use.

This is what Apple always does.

Samsung rolls out a much more technologically advanced phone, but people shite on it because it runs Android.

Apple waits 2-3 years, copies the technology, and then repackages it as some new groundbreaking technology and the Apple fanboys eat it up.

The only reason at all that I've been considering switching to iPhone after years of Samsung/Android use is because of iMessage / FaceTime and it constantly being a problem for me with family and friends group texts.

that apple ingenuity!

I think Samsung is on its 5 gen folding phone or something like that. My cousin just bought the newest one and per usual with Samsung phones, it is superb.

I paid $1400 for an S23 ultra in 2023, and paid the same for the wife's Iphone 16 pro max last September. I was going through it upon delivery, and my God people....your IPhones are the old people jitterbug flip phone of smartphones.

It is truly pathetic the "newest features" on iphones that have been on Samsung and Android phones for 12+ years or more. The delusion is real and astonishing.

Google, OnePlus and Samsung have them. That price is why they haven't caught on.

I don't need one either but this is definitely not true. They are nowhere near twice as thick anymore. In fact they're very close to being the same thickness as traditional phones.

It is only too much when people stop buying them.

Apple fanboys will drop $2k on these without question.

Idiots, IMO.

Well, the ones who can’t afford it, maybe, but for those who can it’s like any luxury purchase; only they can say if it’s worth it.

There are people who pay $100,000 to fly from New Orleans to Chicago when they could do it for less than $1,000. Are they idiots? One of those people is Donald Trump. And I’m referring to before he was the President.

Even $800 is a lot for a phone that a $250 phone can do 90%

I guess it's a cheaper consumer obsession than $75k vehicles which $25k ones can match 90%.

It took them a decade to adopt usb-c, which was superior to their proprietary port in every way. Walled garden of bullshite.
