I tried to get a quote from them. They took forever to respond. The wife decided to just trade her car in. Gmtv kept emailing for weeks.

Thanks. Sounds frustrating in comparison to the other options in this thread, considering the strong radio presence of gmtv.com.

Looking at all options for when I want to sell an older vehicle.

I'm in the market for a used vehicle for my difficult child that I don't trust in anything relatively new. You in the BR area?

Carvana... Did it all online they spent 5 min looking at the vehicle and handed me a check.

Pretty much my experience. Highly recommended.

I paid for the "upgrade" on Autotrader and it was a colossal waste of money, had zero hits over a couple months. I got it detailed and took some high res pictures, posted the ad on craigslist and sold it in a week.

Don't know about Louisiana, but in Texas the basis of the new vehicle is offset by the trade in for sales tax purposes... so if you're selling a potential trade-in, you need to get at least 6.25% more than the dealer offered, because that's the tax you would pay otherwise.

I sold my wifes Yukon to GMTV, was in and out in about 5min after price was agreed. They beat every dealership in Laffy. My dad sold his Ram dually to them as well. They drove to his house, cut him a check and gone within about 10min. He made about $10k off that truck from initial purchase price. I would use them again

Carmax gave us $3k more than any dealership around when we traded in my wife's old car.

Super easy too.

Looking to sell a 2010 Nissan Maxima. What was your experience like?

My wife sold her old Hyundai Sonata to Carmax yesterday. Took her about an hour's time, including the Uber ride home. Easy-peasy.

Anyone have experience with givemethevin.com?

They will lowball you and then leech off carmax's (or another brick and mortar place's) due diligence and match any other offer you get from them plus a few hundred or so. I didn't respect that practice so I didn't sell to them

Sold to AutoTrader. Good experience. Gave me more than what I asked for. Maybe I asked for too little.

I used Car Gurus Recently. Inspection was video call. Offer was on line but all signature required paper work were mailed to me with check since I opted not to give them access to my bank account. Check was activated when vehicle was picked upped. Offer was good enough that when they gave it to us over the phone I said don't hang up.

I got an online offer from Carmax. Brought the car in with the offer and had a check in hand in a couple hours. I had 5k left on the loan and they took care of that whole process with the lender. Overall, one of the better customer experiences I’ve had in recent memory.

Vroom paid $1k more for my car than Carmax. Carmax beat out all other offers by a lot.

Drove up in a Bimmer 325i years ago and the wife followed me in our other car. They drove it around the block, offered me $$$ and I took the deal. No problems.
