You and everyone else. I travel a lot for work and the amount of places / cities that you can tell are beginning their decline is crazy. There will eventually be nowhere to run because these liberal progressives are like parasites. They move from one place to the next and can’t figure out why everywhere they go is ruined.

Idaho is being overrun with California transplants.

Hell no. I will live in the south until the Lord calls me home. The only gunshots in my rural area are from hunters. The violence is a city problem not a southern problem.

The south isn’t the problem. Just move out of densely populated areas

Just look at the demographics. That’s a reliable indicator

And that sucks, but it won’t be the same kind of suck as Nola or BR bc it will still have better demographics

Like many have said, it's a city problem.

As long as the solution is called hateful and people are afraid of that label, it'll just get worse.

If we could only find a common denominator to all this violence.

I’d be down to start some sort of voucher program to give “underprivileged” people a chance to move to the places y’all want to move to

Maybe we can get dsld to set aside some “low income houses” so y’all can get some cultured neighbors in your new town

It’s not a “south” thing per say…it’s a NO & Baton Rouge thing. It needs cleaning up, that shite wouldn’t fly in other areas.

Edit. Would the ignorant down voting fricksticks like to explain why they’re downvoting a persons choice? Yeah… didn’t think so.

Because you said it is a NO and Baton Rouge thing that wouldn’t fly in other areas. It is flying in Dallas, Jackson, Memphis, Atlanta and Birmingham where crime is rampant. Your statement wasn’t a choice, it was an indictment of two southern cities when plenty of other southern cities are terrible, too.

told the wife when i retire we’re moving to iceland.

that way, even if there’s a world war, why would either side care about iceland?

Yeah, I am going to go live in Chicago, L.A, etc..

It doesn't matter what city you move to there will always be the same threats.

Ive been saying this for awhile, but as a whole, drugs need to be decriminalized. Selling drugs illegally is the main source of money for gangs. That doesn't solve the car jackings, robberies, etc but selling drugs is what attracts poor youth to that lifestyle.

The best thing is to move in more rural areas.

The FBI was able to break up the Italian mob right? It pretty much forced them into going "legal". How are they not able to break up these gangs in urban areas? Look at NYC. In the 60s, 70s and 80s it used to be crime infested. Its nothing even close to what it used to be.

Even New Orleans was able to come back for a little while from what it was in the 90s.

it’s getting out of control and I think it’s about to get much worse.

I tend to be optimistic so I think there will be a breaking point and it will get better, but you have to do what you feel is best for your family. As to where to move, that I can't answer.

Yep it's the way to go. Helena, Pelham, Alabaster area. We're out of city limits, just close enough to be in city schools on 20 acres. I've got a 15 minute drive to get to anywhere but we don't mind.

This.

But how can people recognize how bad the area they live in is, but then not recognize the cause of the problems is the policies they have voted for in the past?

Sounds like a LA problem. I live in suburb about 25 miles north of Atlanta.

No. I'm gonna live my life in my city and try and make it better. Then maybe one day after saving up I can retire on a small pond I dig in my backyard. Hopefully.
