Go to Lake Tahoe get a hotel room, enjoy paradise on earth. They have nice cozy rooms at Squaw Valley about an hour outside South Lake Tahoe, gorgeous.

Winter Olympics were hosted there in the 60s so it’s an amazing spot

Go to south to Carmel and Monterey. The drive through Pebble Beach is pretty awesome.

Walk across the bridge. Kills a few hours and the views are amazing. Eat lunch in Salcalito on the bay.

Is there any idea when they'll turn the power back on? If it's for a good portion of the rest of y'alls trip I'd look into switching your flight back home to a different city and driving to that city, finding things to do there for the remainder of your trip.

Have to love a SF thread on the OT.

Bunch of BR residents sprinting like Usain Bolt to reply with a clever comment about how SF sucks.

What’s the deal with the power outage? I’m heading there next weekend for a conference.

Why wouldn't you be able to go to Muir Woods?

How long has the power been out? How extensive is it? If its from SF all the way to Santa Rosa, traffic must be a complete mess.

You like science n stuff? How about drinking while looking at science stuff so you feel smarter?

Wife and I stumbled on this last time we were in San Francisco and it was one of our favorite things we did: LINK

Hit up Tahoe, or just drive a little further up north to Mendocino/Humbolt. Lots of small wineries, dining, coastal and inland activites. Catch a day trip with a walk on fishing tour(several of these out of Fort Bragg) .
