After several years of seeing 7 different ones, I found one that I truly got positive results from. He told me during my first visit, he doesn’t want me as a lifelong patient. His goal was to solve the issue, not just treat the symptoms. He is the only one that used thermal heat and acupuncture and after seeing him for 7 months, 12 years ago, I haven’t had an issue.
My problem was from complications with spinal anesthesia during emergency surgery while in the Navy.

My back will get out of alignment couple times a year just above the belt line.
This SOB will work on me about 20 minutes and charges 40-50 and I’ll be on my way feeling better. Also of note, I can call and drop by whenever with no appointment or any future appointments required.
Also the Wife (no pics) & I recently changed mattress and it seems to really help.

It depends what you need worked on. I have found that most of them promise too much.

Yeah. Good ones can relieve pain like no one else. Poor ones put you on fancy machines that make noise and keep you coming back.
The key to a good chiropractor is their ability to relax you before snapping.
I miss my old one every time I'm in pain or drive by his old business. RIP Bones.

They’re in the business of getting you to come back, not in the business of healing.
Healing is not a 1 size fits all, it depends on the physical ailment(s). Most do require multiple visits & treatments, anyone thinking other wise is a fool.
I used to have chronic neck/shoulder pain and lower back issues, both sports related injuries. When I lived in a small town I tried a couple of different chiropractors, and they all did the same exact adjustments/therapies each time I went regardless of what was bothering me at that particular time. So that was a problem.
After 2-3 years playing around with that I moved to a larger town I tried a chiropractor that took x-rays and got immediate relief and we flexed my intervals from there as needed until I was comfortable. Went twice the first week, then every other week then monthly and now almost 15 years later I still see this chiropractor on a recurring visit every 6 weeks for routine maintenance. I'm still active in the gym and golf so my particular issues will never go away likely without surgery.
My daughter is almost 10 and we've been bringing her to this chiropractor since she was infant. When she was an infant it helped with both BMs and colic which both directly affected her & effectively our sleep.
I've gone in on several occasions and struggled to get out of bed and/or stand up straight, or couldn't hardly turn my neck, some of these were on days after physical activities, some were after apparently just being older and sleeping wrong. This chiro had me feeling like a brand new man pretty much after the 1st visit for each of these times.

I have a good one I go to. I have intermittent low back issues, when it locks up I can’t stand up straight. I’m 63, have some misalignment and spurs due to wear and tear. Generally takes 2-3 adjustments to make a difference, then just maintenance every now and then when it gets tight.
Currently seeing him, been 4 times in the last month after having some major pain issues, probably need to get treated 2-3 more times. The cold weather doesn’t help.
Seems like most people are under the misconception that 1 treatment fixes everything. It won’t, because many issues are created due to muscle imbalance/weakness. It’s going to hurt after a couple of adjustments because you’re being realigned, then your body wants to revert to where it was.
They’re not all the same, just like all Family Med MD’s or plumbers aren’t the same. The ones who claim they can cure diabetes and other issues you need to avoid, same as the ones who want to lock you into a plan.
Check reviews on them, a good one can definitely make a huge difference if you’re having issues.

Most of them are loaded. I found one I really liked in BR and he was broke AF
So maybe look for broke ones.

That bro can pound and last. Is he using a desesatizer cream or something else?

No, fancy tens unit & heating pad about 10-15 minutes and then pop back based on where the pain is, and realignment

Both my parents were insurance adjusters, so I've been trained to assume chiropractors are full of shite.

I swear by the chiropractor, if you can find a good one. My back will often give me trouble whenever I play basketball. A trip to my Chiro has me feeling as good as new.
Call it psuedoscience if you'd like. Fine, That relatively cheap psuedoscience does wonders for me.

I have a chiropractor who is a ex Olympic lifter. That guy has fixed my neck to the point of I no longer need surgery.
I have come to find out that there are different schools of chiropractics and they teach different philosophy so to speak.
One I used to go to, would barely touch you, the one I go to now really manipulates your spine and neck and I have to say I feel wonderful.

Thats because they don't address the real issue. All they do is mask it.

About 8 years ago I had a herniated disc in my lower back. I was in excruciating pain, I couldn’t stand for more than 30 seconds without dropping to my knees, I couldn’t sleep in a bed. Radiating pain from my lower back to my right leg and groin.
I wanted nothing more than to get cut on, anything to alleviate the pain. I tried a chiropractor as a last ditch attempt. The chiropractor told me that discs have the ability to heal themselves, you just have to take the pressure off the disc and allow it to heal.
After 6 weeks of treatment, and home yoga exercises to do, I haven’t felt the pain since. I would highly recommend a chiropractor for a herniated disc. Any other type of treatment, I have no idea experience.

They’re not surgeons.
If you have a back like mine, adjustment and realigning is the only thing that works with acute pain short of surgery.
Once I’m good I continue to stretch daily, only have to pop in every now and then for an adjustment.
Dude I go to knows what he’s doing, doesn’t promise to cure diabetes or cancer, and gives immediate relief when it’s so bad it hurts to stand up.
Find the right one, they can make a huge difference. I’ve referred several people who weren’t happy with prior chiros who had good experience with this one.
