Very, very true. Just becomes hard to imagine living with such pain long term. I hope you continue to manage it and find relief.

I'm in the same boat. I keep Klonopin as my actual script and get blue xanax off the street. I love both and couldn't function a day of my life without it. They are the only thing that works for me, but I stay at a normal dose and dont just take them to get fricked up.

Yes. I used to think I was just depressed. Then I realized it wasnt depression, but instead mostly anxiety. Probably the biggest thing that helped was understanding what it was.

I dont take meds or anything for it. I just try to keep occupied doing things that are progressive. Working on the house, yard, cooking, money management, etc. Doing stuff that results in something I can be proud of.

At work I just tell myself to relax and look around at all the lazy people I work with. And that helps me realize I'm a better employee than 90% of the dumbasses I work with.

When I start feeling anxious I try to just tell myself to relax and take one thing at a time.

Also, if I start feeling down I just think of how bad my parents and grandparents had it. I'm not picking cotton or shitting in a outhouse with no AC in the middle of July...

The pain of depression is so extreme because it is difficult to separate from self.

Please get help when or IF you ever have any idea about hurting yourself.

Depression is an illness. It needs treatment and management strategies.

Cancer patients report that pain from tumors is nothing compared to the agony of depression that can be associated with cancer.

If you feel despondent, if your anxiety increases, if you have any thought regarding suicide, please call 911, call a relative, call a friend, reach out. Those feelings often pass if you can get someone to help you be safe.

Had anxiety in college and as a young adult. shite sucks. Probably left a little on the table of the college experience as a result. Tried a few meds. Weird side effects on all so I stopped. Then I tried acupuncture. Slowly felt better, after about 7 months of acupuncture, it was gone. This was about 10 years ago and has never returned. Still go seasonally for acupuncture and cupping on sports injuries, but I would recommend trying acupuncture from a highly qualified professional traditional Chinese medicine acupuncturist, not this new age white guy named Shiloh bullshite acupuncture

Go to the store and buy some kefir and start drinking it three times a day

KEFIR

Then buy some some kefir grains off of Amazon and start culturing your own.

What you focus on is what you become. As others have suggested pick up some other interests and focus on them. Perhaps The Bible.

Used to have a tough time with both. Used to take Xanax to keep my nerves calm, trazadone to sleep, and a number of different antidepressants. I quit alcohol altogether about 3 years ago and starting hitting the gym like a mad man and it all but went away. Made a HUGE improvement. I do miss the booze sometimes but I enjoy how much happier I am without and having much better mental health. Unfortunately, life still happens and things arise that may cause some normal sadness or anxiety but it's nothing i need meds for anymore. Hope it gets better for you.

I am a Christian and a physician.

Please make sure people know when they need help from professionals trained in mental health.

Christians can get clinical depression and attempt or complete suicide.
It is not sin. Depression is sickness.
