Definitely not the worst. A SSRI at a low dose and another optional drug. Not too bad.

Battled anxiety and depression for years.. exercise, eating right and developing a daily Zen meditation changed my life. Started by reading the joy of living. Saved my life actually.
Besides taking magnesium and tryptophan to sleep, I'm med free.

CBD is the real deal.
But you must do some work to find what suits you best, and there’s a lot of inferior products out there.
Nuleaf is highly reputable full spectrum CBD.
People who think they don’t feel much with once use need to understand it has cumulative impact in improving our balance and health.

Depression, no. Anxiety, ah more of perfectionism mixed a little OCD. My problem is anger, but hard workouts and a little Indaca works. Be careful with that klonipan, friend.

Yes. It’s been a long road to become a high functioning adult.

I’ve struggled with anxiety for most of my life. I don’t talk about it often. I have irrational fears about things happening to members of my family.
I try to keep it under control, but it can be crippling at times. I’d do anything to shut it off forever.

On July 13, I will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of my first panic attack.
I was driving alone between Augusta and Atlanta at around midnight when it hit. I checked myself into an emergency room and 3 hours later was released with muscle relaxers and a neck brace.
Over the next few months I was in and out of Dr. offices and had a few EKGs. I ended up seeing a Doc in Birmingham who correctly diagnosed me with general anxiety disorder with panic attacks. I started taking 10mg of Paxil and running 3 miles per day.
I’ve been on and off Paxil for the last 20 years as needed and have developed & beaten a few weird phobias. Mine comes and goes, and I may be fine for 6 months then BAM, panic attack. My panic is typically brought on by heart palps...which suck arse.
I have learned that exercise really is the best way to get your brain chemistry back in balance.
Folks who haven’t experienced panic or anxiety don’t realize that panic/anxiety/depression aren’t just “moods” that are easy to control.
Edit:
For those folks medicating with benzos and/or alcohol...beware of rebound anxiety.
Most Docs won’t give xanax due to rebound anxiety.

Anyone have anxiety and depression?

I wouldn't take the Benzos for anything other than occasional acute panic attacks. I took a low dose nightly for insomnia and ended up with crushing depression. It went away once I got off the benzo (which was a nightmare to do).

I think we men are anxious and depressed because we evolved to be out riding fences (figuratively but sometimes literally), directly providing food, and in general living harder and shorter lives than we lead now, which greatly reduced the amount of time we had for navel-gazing and worrying about things we couldn’t do anything about.

Recently got off some meds after being on them for 1.5 years. I feel like they actually prolonged some healing and am now working through that. I’ve found mindfulness meditation to be more effective at managing depression.
I’m not denying depression is a thing, I’ve suffered it at many points in my life. But I feel like western culture has missed the mark in treating it. Happiness isn’t something we should strive for. It’s fleeting. We should learn to look for inner peace, first and foremost. It helps to weather the storms. Also a little herb never hurt.
