Depends on what you're looking for. If you're roughing it with the boys and staying at a place on the river to do some fishing and drinking and pissing ya pretty much can't miss.

If you're bringing the wife and family for a nice weekend It's hit or miss. Pay the extra for a "nicer" place if you're on the fence. I've had some great deals that worked out wonderfully and I've had a couple absolute dumps.

Last place I stayed was lousy with bedbugs, had to leave right after we turned down the bed. Great view, though.

VRBO. I stayed in pigeon forge. We did a ton of outdoors stuff and had the time of our lives!
Both downtown PF and Gatlinburg suck though unless you like carnivals

I’ve stayed in this one before. It is owned by a buddy of mine that lives in St. Francisville. It is right up the mountain from Dollyworld. FWIW Dollyworld was a waste of money in my opinion

Certainly not a cabin and may be out of your price range. But we rented this house last year for the TN game (only about 30 mins from Knoxville).

AirBnB House on the side of a hill in Pigeon Forge

Kids loved it...they have a couple of old school video games, hot tub, lots of space on the deck. Only 2-3 mins off the main drag (321).

we did a few years ago. I think through VRBO, but it was one of those rentals places.

Timber tops if they are still there. Nice cabins, a little pricy but worth it.

Looks like they are yourcabins.com now

I do it every year. I rent direct from the owner, don't go thru any of the agencies.

Last time we went my wife said to hell with a cabin and cooking. We stayed at the Hilton garden inn downtown.

I think we did VRBO two years ago for Thanksgiving. Got a three bedroom with pool table a hot tube Thanksgiving week for about $130 a night. Had to mail a check to the Owner before we got there. They sent us a code to the key box and had a great time. View was nothing special at all just on the side of a mountain looking at trees, not high enough for skyline views. Just off the highway between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg about 2 miles outside of Gat.

I know a good family who live in Livingston (one of the few people in Livingston that aren’t trashy) that have a cabin up there. In Pigeon Forge I think? They rent their cabin out for a good price.

We usually stay at Gatlinburg Falls. It’s legit.

If you want a cheaper option, Zoder’s Inn is great. You can get a room right on the creek, and they have an indoor pool, etc.
