Anyone ever been to a Dollar General Store? Is it like a poor's Walmart?

Dollar General isn't bad at all and actually has better prices than Wallyworld. Not a bad place to go for essentials.

Yes but with mostly higher prices.
Their claim to fame is having far more locations than Walmart. They have almost 3 times as many stores so they are more accessible and still cheaper than other stores not named Walmart.

Have one down the street and I avoid that place like the plague. Their cashiers are all retirees. 2nd in line means a 15 minute wait.

It's a general store, not a dollar store. It's called dollar general store.
