I dated someone with opposing political beliefs. It was rarely an issue between us. But the reason she held those beliefs permeated her personality and ultimately made us incompatible. That's probably the nicest way I can put it.

I'm a bit late to the thread.
I'm a gay conservative, so most of the guys I've dated have been liberal. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I've decided over the years it boils down to respect. If you two respect each other and each other's opinions, it can work. If there is not mutual respect between you, then I promise you, it will never work.
In addition to respect, communication is important and understanding how each other communicates. This is good in all facets of a relationship, but particularly with sensitive issues like politics and religion.
Agree with one another that when you disagree, you aren't attacking the other. Agree that when discussing politics emotions will be left out. Avoid letting the discussion get emotional. I always found having a good understanding of facts rather than the popular narrative also helps. That means avoiding Op-Eds, and Op-Eds presented as new stories. Surprisingly, there's always been more agreement when a full speech can be watched from a politician rather than reading an Op-Ed on the speech. I got one boyfriend to stop calling Trump a racist when I requested he watch the full speeches then read a "news story" on the same speech. He realized that there is so much editorializing of content that you need to read and/or watch the entire thing for yourself. (Ironically enough before we broke up, he became a big fan of Fox Business and Maria B. lol).
But to be honest, if you feel there isn't that level of respect for one another, even over small things, it's not meant to last. Cut your losses and move on.

I did for several years. It eventually gets old and does not work.

Is this the same girl that was also dating some environmental professor when you lived in Milwaukee? He was a leading expert on healthy dirt or something similar.

Hopefully she smartens up and dumps your arse, but it's hard to have sympathy for her since she missed the giant glaring red flag that is you listening to the heretic Joel Osteen

Depends on how far apart you are on things and how frequently it creates conflict in your relationship.

Get out and try to find someone with like values. Marriage sometimes get tough down the road. You don't need built in problems. I know people who are married with different outlooks on life. It causes strife.

No I haven't. To be honest most of the hard left leaning women I've met were either fat, ugly, a combination of the two, or had such a terrible attitude that I couldn't be around them for more than a couple of minutes. I've dating girls who were kind of left on a couple of issues and they were ok but generally held conservative values like being religious or family oriented.

My wife has gotten caught up in all the social media bs as she is an “influencer” on Instagram. We had it out the other day but didn’t come to much of a conclusion

I don't know man, someone with zero political viewpoints sounds pretty good right now.

If James Carville and Mary Matalin can make it work in a marriage for 27 years anybody can make it work if they want to make it work.
I think it’s because they’re both like most politicians and merely players in a game. They just play different parts.
Doesn’t Kelly Ann Conway have a super liberal husband?
I’m not going to say a name because of anonymity reasons but I was in rehab with a very prominent Washington politicians son and he and I had a lot of interesting conversations about this type thing. His parent was a very outspoken Democrat and said that’s it’s completely different when the cameras are off. That’s the closest I’ve been to anyone with that kind of information but I found it fascinating some of the stories he told.

Pull out permanently.

I have converted a left leaning independent into a red hat wearing GOP in about 3 years. She has some smarts to her, which went a long way in the conversion.
