I mean me and my wife have some differing views, but it works well I believe. We are usually able to find common ground somewhere.

We are both reasonable people who don't mind listening to the other's viewpoint. It's not that hard honestly, but it likely helps that we both are kinda in the center, but she learns further left than myself.

Good for you. Honestly it is the right choice. It’s tough to take a step back, but focusing on exercise, music, and God instead of the anger that comes with being obsessive over politics will do wonders for your health and relationships.

We’d all be a whole lot better off if we focused more on exercise, hobbies, and faith/philosophy/education rather than being pawns screaming at other over politics non-stop.

Cheers, mate

My wife was way liberal when I met her

She's now registered as an independent, is certainly left of center, but agrees with alot of conservative view points and is not nearly as liberal as her family

She hates Donald Trump because she thinks he's a dick

She's probably right, but sometimes you need dicks in office (See Team America speech)

Yeah we just don’t talk about shite we have vehement disagreements over and accept that the other disagrees with us.

Mine just gets mad when I call trannies freaks.

Other than that she is solid conservative. I am blessed.

My ole lady gets pretty upset with me when I vote no on any and every tax increase. "but it helps the teachers" or something like that. Other than that I can deal with her being kind of a Karen.

This is the best route to take

And slowly over the years dropping little hints and factoids without it appearing like you're working on her until eventually her views change

You won’t last. She will pick politics & friend group over you. She’s embarrassed of what you might say around your friends, and hesitates to introduce to other like-minded friends of hers. Same thing with her family, what you might say after a few glasses of wine during the holidays. She worries & fears what will happen if you have children, and how you raise them, & what morals you teach them. She constantly thinks, after you say something she disagrees with, if she can handle a life everlasting with you. Astonished that you think the way you do.

The energy feels off because it is. Because even for the woman you love, you can’t find middle ground.

In other words, think more closely to what she believes. Maybe he'd be embarrassed for her to say something stupid around his family too?

If you are expecting a healthy relationship to develop out of one person making all of the compromises, good luck.
