When I lived in Baton Rouge I was called like clockwork every 2 years. Literally as soon as I could legally be called, I was. Meanwhile my husband, mother, and father were never called during the decades they lived in BR.
I have been called once in the 25 years since I left.
Dont tell me that shite is random.

Opposite for me
Im 52. Have only been summoned 3 times, and never got to the interview part
Just watched a movie 3x waiting for my group to be called

If you lived anywhere around the disaster area that was post-Katrina southeast Louisiana, you had a very good chance of getting at least one jury duty summons.

Want to be an American citizen? Wanna vote? Then jury duty is your obligation. Give up your citizenship if you don’t want to face the ‘hazards’ of JD.
And yes, I have served 4 times.

Got called about 45 yrs ago but the defense attorney struck me. Was called 10 or 15 yrs ago for grand jury but they called so may numbers and the rest of us were released. My wife has served as juror on two murder cases.

I moved 900 miles away and immediately got summoned where I used to live. Was able to call in and get out of it.

I went 3 times before being selected the third time for an aggravated rape case that sent that POS to Angola for life. I think the judge said it would be five years before our names were added back in and it wasn’t long after that time period that I received another summons in the mail. Now they go straight to the trash, in Louisiana they can’t prove you received anything in the mail.

Do your duty and write it off as the cost of being a good Merican!

Is this like something with the actual toe or in my neighborhood where toe might sound like the way "tore arse drunk" sounds to others. I hear a lot of "ax" in my hood if that helps.

Back in 2004 my sister moved to Arkansas for her masters and I convinced her to register to vote here for the election.
She was summoned to jury duty almost immediately and then got bit by a brown recluse.
It was an impressive streak of bad luck.

Was called only once in my long life. The judge is a good friend of mine. When we were assembled waiting to be called in he came into the waiting area and found me and said you can go home. He said it was a complex case and I would be there for weeks.

Go in and act like a know it all. You’ll get dismissed.

Pretty sure jury duty is fake or some simulation type crap.
I nor anyone I’ve ever known, has been summoned to serve on a jury

Never had jury duty. Probably because I am not registered to vote

They summons liberals, at least in the 19 Judicial court in BR. If called just tell them that you heard all about the case and support the death penalty. You’ll be dismissed.

Sometimes the stories are worth the crappy pay.
Case involved some smugglers in South Florida in the 80's. Busted for illegal smokes (cigs, not weed).
Q. Do you smoke
A. No
Then more questions by the attorney and looked like the State was happy to put me in the box. Near the end they got around to personal thoughts on tobacco.
Q. It appears as tho you have no contact with tobacco, is this correct?
A. Not directly, but my family has been growing it since the 1700's
Got bounced from that jury, but for a brief moment the attorney representing the defendants got a big smile on their face, as did their clients.

I have never been summoned for jury duty. Must be all those vicious rumors about my character swirling around the internet.

That's excellent for us, but unfortunately, I believe we're in the minority.
