Bad idea. Women have no respect for a man that they have to support financially, even if it was her idea.

My bil was injured in an industrial accident years ago and couldn’t work for years. He and my sister grew accustomed to her working and him being at home and agreed to continue that arrangement (they never had kids). He seems happy; he loves to cook and doesn’t mind cleaning. My sister is nearing retirement. It worked for them.
My brother lost his job a few years ago and was unemployed during the first year of his oldest daughter’s life. He joked about being “Mr Mom”, but he didn’t like it and eventually went back to work.

It’s not about be alpha. It’s about women being unable to escape their biological desires. They’re the weak link in this scenario.

I’m retired while the wife (no pics) still works. It is great. A few simple things will help your cause.
In mowing season leave the mower and a gas can by the driveway.
Leave the vacuum cleaner out with a dust rag and a can of furniture polish.
Take some folded towels out of the linen closet and put them on the bed.
Turn the dryer on.
Don’t do these all in the same day.

I don’t think a woman could really respect a stay at home dad. I’m sure they all think they can and say things like “Oh I have just the most amazing husband who stays home with the kids and does so so much for our family.” But in reality there’s no chick that wants to frick the guy holding the mop and changing the diapers.

For the majority of couples, I think you are right. It sounds like a sure fire recipe for the wife having an extramarital affair with a co-worker.

I tell my wife at least once a week that I'm ready to hang it up and be the perfect house husband!

Sold my portion of the company when I was 40. Kid was 10. Wife kept working. I was the field trip dad. Can't beat fishing during the week for sure.

I guess I am...I'm retired and my wife works.

I'm only 48 and fish, work outside, goof off whenever I want to.

My only rule for myself is that I have to be productive for 2 hours a day mowing, working in the shop, etc.

No kids at home...just a bulldog, some cats and cattle.

I had been averaging about 8 months of work out of the year. I enjoy prepping for dinner, doing house work, etc. Business has taken off though, miss the free time.

My neighbor at one time was. He was an engineer but his wife became vice president of a fortune 500 company. She told him to stay home and raise the kids.
He loved it but missed working. He really found it easy. They only lived next door about a year before she got moved to the headquarters.

I would love to be a stay at home dad as soon as my kids are out of the house. Just 1 more year and the youngest is gone.

I live on a lake. I’d take care of the chores and then fish all day. I’d take that deal all day long. You can bet your arse I’d be wearing something sexy when she came home every day too.

Unfortunately, my wife has very little earning ability so it will never happen around here.
