I wish. I would do it in a heartbeat

I wish! I make a little more than my wife for now but she has higher upside and will eventually surpass me. I’m always pushing for her to go for that next promotion

Things to consider:
1. Kids age
2. Housework
3. Cooking
4. Would there be enough leftover funds to do stuff?

I used to think that it would be awesome, then I had a kid. I couldn't imagine being at home with a child all day, everyday.

My wife’s been a stay at home mom for 15 years.
I guarantee you if we flipped roles and I did exactly the same stuff she does we’d be divorced in a year.

I was for a couple of years.
It was fricking awesome.
The myth that being a SAH mom is difficult is hilarious.

While I like the idea, I’m not sure my ego could allow my wife to out earn me. I could be a stay at home dad and probably still make $100k doing side shite from home.

It only makes sense if the wife has a job with a higher earning potential than yours and your job is so low that it’s right around just a check for day care.

How many kids do you have?

My soon to be wife proposed the idea saying childcare is expensive and that I might as well stay home
You must have a very low income, or 5+ kids in daycare for this to even make financial sense.

does the wife give you an allowance or how is the money handled because she's got you by the balls now

The argument for one staying home doesn’t make much sense to me.
My wife stayed home for 6 months after our second.
Daycare is $16k/year for two kids
She makes $80k/year.
You don’t save money by staying home

I don’t think a woman could really respect a stay at home dad. I’m sure they all think they can and say things like “Oh I have just the most amazing husband who stays home with the kids and does so so much for our family.”
But in reality there’s no chick that wants to frick the guy holding the mop and changing the diapers.

Do like the stay at home wives, claim Fibromyalgia and hire out a maid to clean house.
