i live 6 hours away but used to try to make it to one home and one away game a year. after attending the 2013 bama/lsu game in tuscaloosa i said no more. this was a combination of the pain of going to the games and also being disgusted with the LSU coaching situation/administration. if LSU ever gets its act together i might start going again.

He’s the one who got rid of the tickets.
He thought through the expense of our 4 tickets plus related costs and realized we could have quite the lavish weekend for the same amount.

Definitely can't argue with that.

And this conversation is done.
It was done the second you thought LSU and Alabama had the same issues with ticket sales. If you think LSU and Alabama have similar fanbases and quality of product you are wrong. Alabama is above us on many levels sadly.

LSU doesn't have worse or smaller or poorer or ... fanbase compared to Alabama. Obviously their football team is better, but they're in BFE.

I haven't cared about LSU football since 2012-2013. Life just gets in the way and having to spend multiple weekends in that shite hole Baton Rouge is night ideal.
I've been to i think 5 games in the last 6 years.

Typical LSU fans.
20 years ago many fans would have sold their first born son just to get a Bowl win.
Here we are now and they are barely a 7 win team and now nobody wants to go anymore.

Nope
TS lost its mystique due to excessive corporitization

I was burned out a few years ago because everything to do with going to a game seemed like a struggle.
The university has done everything they can to remove free parking and tailgating within easy walking distance, but still there are over 100,000 people around campus for big game days. The result is I had to drive in early and stay all day without a tailgate spot.
Watching Les' teams had become a teeth grinding experience for me.
After the game it took at least an hour to get out of traffic and then the time to drive back home.
Bottom line it was an all day ordeal.
Now, I leave the house no more than 2 hours before kickoff, take my own snacks and drinks, drive to L'Auberge and take their shuttle to the game, take the shuttle back to L'Auberge after and drive home.

LSU's endowment is 700 or 800M. Alabama's is 1.3B

I'm tired of going to see a BS rent a win 4 times a year. Troy bit them on the arse last year. one is ok and 2 is fine but 4 is bull shite. Virginia Tech and West Virginia are the only 2 in the last 11 years at Tiger Stadium

21-0 and les miles took the emotion out of lsu football for me
Alleva and Orgeron buried anything I had left in me to go to the games. I gave up my season tickets and this is the first year I don't see myself going to a game. It's become a waste of money

Personally I do t go to half games I used to.
Main reasons
House
Tv
Beer
Cooking
Big tv
Comfortable chair couch
All make it more enjoyable and far less expensive.
Usually take my my wife to a good game sit on stadium club and take kids to a Crap game... they don't know the difference.

all the bros out to my house and having a big blowout watch party in the back yard. Cooking and drinking all day, catching up and cutting up with everybody, watching not just LSU but all of the other good games on that day, and it costs a fraction of what it costs to go to Baton Rouge. Everyone isn't spread out all over campus, there aren't a bunch of people I don't know crowding around me, I'm not competing with someone else's obnoxious sound system, and I'm already at home so no chance of traffic.
And I can piss whenever I want and then get another drink

so much easier to go to a Saints game compared to LSU. Zip in to town around 9-10am, grab some drinks along Poydras, enter Dome around 11:45, enjoy a competitive game with no Southwestern Rhode Island A&M filler bull shite and zip out of the city in less than 15 minute
I'll pay twice as much to not have to be around trash NFL fans

Am I alone here?
I graduated LSU in 2015. Even at our age, it is a hassle for my wife an I to go to games.
2 season tickets: $1,400
Parking Pass: $500 (My MIL gets me one for my birthday every year)
Tailgating Supplies: $500
Season's worth of gas to drive into games: $400
Food/Drinks inside of games: $300
That's over $3,000 spent for 7 weekends for a couple in their mid-20s. Luckily we still have friends in Baton Rouge so we don't have to pay for a place to stay.
Once little crawfish come around I can't see how it will be worth going. To be honest, if she didn't like going as much as she does, I would be perfectly fine staying at home watching the games on TV.

Yep, but even then, season tix not needed.
