If I had a significant other I definitely wouldn’t want this. Then they’d know how much time I waste at the barn

how is it different from her just occasionally asking you?
Because if she just asks me, she is showing trust that I will tell her the truth. Maybe I'm weird, but there is a difference there. I wouldn't hesitate to tell her where I am at any time, but it's just weird to me to track.

It's just my wife and I though, we don't have kids or anything yet, so maybe I will look at it differently then.

My wife often goes on long bike rides for Ironman training. She’s wrecked before up in St Francisville. Helps me know she’s okay. River road ain’t no joke either.

I do it with my wife, kids and some of my friends. Works out great and none of us have anything to hide.

I share mine with the wife and kids and they all do the same. No distrust (at least not on my end). I rarely look at it, but it does help once in a while if I need to know where one of them are.

My son and I hunt a lot and as soon as he started hunting alone at 10 years old, it was good to know where he was in the woods.

I hunt in some pretty sketchy places and my wife does a lot of triathlons. We do it for safety reasons. The last big deer I killed was 1.5 miles to the nearest road. Doesn't matter how good my safety equipment is I want someone to know where I'm at.

I'm also linked with my parents who travel a lot.

It's not really tracking. Here's where my wife uses it.

Say I leave the hunting camp Sunday on the way home, and forget to text her I'm leaving so she has an ETA. She calls, and because I turned the ringer off, I don't hear it and don't answer. So she can pull up my location to see where I am.

Situations like that are really the only time she does it.

Yeah that probably does make a difference. If it were just me and the wife maybe I would have thought about it more deeply, but with kids (small kids and teen drivers) all we saw was convenience.

It’s like a small airport over here with all the departures and arrivals, so being able to quickly figure out where everyone is so wonderful.

My wife and I turned it on for Mardi Gras at some point before we were married and just never turned it off.

Don’t really look at it very much, but I’ve definitely used it when I’m drinking beers and watching sports to see how long I have to start working on the chores I was supposed to do before she gets home.

Same here. My wife goes off to paint someone's kitchen, and is using the paint sprayer or power sander, and doesn't hear my texts or calls. I'll pull up the Find My app on the iPhone, see she's at the house, or at Home Depot, or at Sherwin Williams, and at least I know she hasn't had a wreck somewhere.

I would do it if I though about it,

I don't give a damn about infidelity. If she cheats, she cheats, nothing will stop a cheater if they choose to cheat.

But it seems nice to know if someone is close to a store or something, and it would be nice to know when they are getting home from trips or some such.

Gf and her mom and sister do this.

She will inevitably ask me.

It's okay. I'm not the permission type.

Fair enough.

We both keep our ringers on and have phones bluetooth'd to our cars, so not answering pretty much only happens if we are busy with work or if we are on the phone with someone else.

Also have security cameras around the house that live feed to our phones so we can see if the other person's car is in the driveway.

I wouldn't be against it if asked, but I would never it in a less serious relationship where I don't live with the person. The entire point of still living apart is having that freedom to come/go at all times of the day/night without being asked about it. I've been known to go to a 10PM showing of a movie by myself or to get a glass of wine later in the evening when I'm bored.

My teenage kids don’t need to track where I am. I’m a grown arse man. If they need me they can pick up the phone and call me.

Same with my wife

I know someone who makes their mid 20s kids share their location with him. And he checks up on it.

This is the reason I share my location with my immediate family and hunting/fishing buddies during hunting season. I want folks to be able to find me at any time, day or night.

My whole family is in a group on life360. I'm not the least bit bothered by it. Better to be safe than sorry.
