We're on the road a lot with the grandkids between the Northshore and Nola, Bay St. Louis, Grand Isle or Venice.

For us it's a safety issue, so of course we use this feature.

Apparently there is some setting that allows others to track your phone. Mine is set that way. My wife, a couple of my kids and several nieces and nephews can track me. I don’t give a dang.

We turned it on when we got the kid a phone. Not creepy 360 app level, but just regular Apple location thing. All three of us have it, and if my wife is bored enough to track me who cares.

Honey bunny called me while I was in Houma on a hurricane evac and I was already hammered. I told her we were going out and she said oh turn your location services on in case something happens. I have limited memory of this. Next thing I know I am at some dive and she's screenshotting where I'm at. Busted. It didn't help that I sent her a snapchat of my buddy asleep on the sidewalk.

If you are a cheating bastard then this could work in your favor ... location is tied to your phone location. If you wanted to cheat, take your phone to the office and turn off ringer “accidentally”. Leave your phone and go somewhere to cheat. You’re doing your thing but if your SO checks it looks like you’re at the office and there is a digital record of you being there because you’re presumed to be where your phone is.

That being said, our family uses Life360 and we like it. It’s helpful to know when to expect the wife to get home if I’m grilling dinner. Helps me plan things out and her phone is on silent from teaching yoga . . . or is she???

It’s indirectly asking. But yea I was going to respond with a similar post.

I'm not necessarily asking for permission to go out, just making sure one of us is watching the toddler.

I will never do this in the event I want to become a spy. I often leave my house and walk to bus station pay cash and go somewhere else.

I have done it bc she was so bad with directions she would constantly call me asking for help figuring out where she was and where she was going. Having location services on make that task 1000x less aggravating.

She’s in the basement now repainting a desk for our son. I typically do the woodwork and she handles the painting and finishing.

I often do when I go hunting/fishing so she feels better if I don't check in. If I'm 20 minutes later than normal and don't answer she is calling my podnuhs asking them if they think something happened

We set it up to keep track of the kids. I’m fine with it; if I’m going somewhere I’m going to tell her anyway.

Right and then hear about how I should want to help her and not pass the buck onto some app

I do but only because I’m an alcoholic in the early stages of recovery. Keeps me honest as far as a deterrent from stopping by the liquor store on the way home. Not a long term resolution, but it works as a deterrent for now. ?????
