One of my baws said he and his SO do this all the time. He said it was for “safety reasons.”

When asked whos idea it was, of course, it was hers.

This seems like setting a relationship up for distrust

I know several marriages like that. One was bc both were caught cheating on the other one.

There is ZERO chance in hell I would ever agree to that.

It blows my mind that anyone would agree to this.

Better than her not willing to share hers.

My entire immediate family shares location. It wasn’t even a discussion. We did just it.

Same here, but we were married before everybody had cellphones (early 90's). Also a natural once the kids had them. Just natural to be all linked together.

Now today if I was in my late 20's/30's and met a woman? Nope, wouldn't do it. Probably.

These are the same guys who ask permission from their gf/wife to go out with friends, etc.

Same here. Also, my little sis shares hers with me, our older sister, and some other family. She's been going through treatment for her cancer, and sometimes it affects her pretty bad. So she wanted one of us to always know where she is in case something happened. I mainly share with my wife and daughter, and it comes in handy from time to time.

We have life 360. I set it up so I could see where kids are and they can see where I am. My husband refuses to join our circle on the app. It annoys me.

Is there a legitimate reason for hiding (i.e. not sharing) your location from your partner if you are in a long term, committed relationship? Other than making it harder to plan surprise gifts or somesuch, I don't know what the risk would be.

So you just leave and not say where you are going. Or just say hey I’m doing this? I feel like that’s rude. Especially if kids are small and spouse needs help with them. I don’t think it terrible to run plans by your spouse.

When you have kid(s) you at least need to run it by them first, but that's a little different then asking for permission.

I mean, just because you aren't doing it doesn't mean you're "hiding" it. Like I said, I don't even know how. Is this an app or something? I know you can share your location on Snapchat, but I don't need random people knowing my location.
