You can do it through Apple. My wife and I do it.

What's funny is when the technology fails at some point and people think that person is dead.

It happened to me. GPS tracker died on a long backpacking trip. I was fine but my parents started calling park rangers thinking I was dead.

It’s indirectly asking. But yea I was going to respond with a similar post.

I did with my last girlfriend. No issue to worry about when you’re not lying. It helps with convenience and safety but I never had an issue with it.

mean, just because you aren't doing it doesn't mean you're "hiding" it. Like I said, I don't even know how. Is this an app or something? I know you can share your location on Snapchat, but I don't need random people knowing my location.

That's fair. But assuming a person did know how to do it and his/her long-term SO asked that the service be activated, I'm struggling to identify a legitimate basis for not sharing the location with only the SO.

Ah. I'm the only Apple user. Oh well.

Seems smart to do with kids though.

Our phones are set to where we can locate each other.

It was her idea because I am horrible about turning the ringer off on my phone and not hearing it buzz when I'm in the car.

Cuz they just don’t want to? Not everyone wants to be connected 24/7.

Yeah we share locations. Couldn't even tell you the last time I looked at where my wife is.

I'm 29 I honestly don't know how to do this. Wasn't trying to look cool.

It actually would be convenient since he works in the middle of the night all over random places, and I tend to put my phone into my purse for hours at a time when I'm Sunday brunching or having cocktails with friends. Thats why I asked.

One of my baws said he and his SO do this all the time. He said it was for “safety reasons.”

When asked whos idea it was, of course, it was hers.

This seems like setting a relationship up for distrust

I don't and I think it's weird when people do. It's definitely a lack of trust. I have no problem with my wife knowing where I am at any time, but I do have a problem if she thinks she needs to know where I am all the time. That would just mean to me that she didn't trust me.

My wife and I do it, along with our teens so we all don’t have to bug each other about ETA’s.

These are the same guys who ask permission from their gf/wife to go out with friends, etc.
Yep, we were at dinner recently with friends, and this girl at the table said something about how she wasn't going to a bachelorette party with a certain group of friends, but her fiance would "let" her go with my wife and a different group...

That kinda dialogue is the kinda shite that happens in relationships where your phone location is shared all the time.

Wouldn't be very useful for me. My wife doesn't drive so we go most places together.

I'm happy never knowing where all my ex went without my knowledge. I know she made a few secret trips to Vegas which led to her putting key trackers on my phone/laptop and having Toyota pull up the current GPS location of my vehicle regularly. Crazy women will always find ways to track you.

I mean, unless she’s just sitting their constantly staring at the app, how is it different from her just occasionally asking you?
