Any tips for a first time boater?

Rented a 24ft party barge for my friend's bachelor party next weekend on a lake here in GA. I've never driven a boat before and while it seems easy I know there are techniques and etiquette standards that need to be followed.
Any tips for good boating and how to not be annoying/an a-hole on the water to other boaters?

Wake the shite out of Saban's camp.

Make sure you put women and children first on the lifeboats.

That should go swimmingly, no pun intended

You want to be as drunk as possible. Unlike driving a car, you actually drive a boat better while drunk.

No wake zones are just a suggestion

Make sure some who HAS driven a boat before does the driving. And if you don’t have anybody on the trip who has, then why would you plan that? Get somebody who knows what they are doing.

Not ruining everyone else's family weekend with bachelor party nonsense would be a good start.

Keep both hands on the wheel.

Your 1st time will look like this.

If you want helpful answers, if you want entertaining ones, then ask the OT.

What are you gonna do? Retake Omaha beach? Should have dropped a little coin on a kick arse drag boat named "Suck my Wake".

1.) Only go as fast as you are wiling to hit something. Remember boats do not have brakes. This is especially true around docks or the launch. GO SLOW. Neutral drift is your friend.
2.) Do not try to board the boat with the motor running.
3.) Watch the depth and dont hit anything. Remember the motor sticks down a lot deeper than the hull. When in doubt, go very slow and tilt motor up. Never run the motor high enough where it can't draw water in for cooling.
Everything else is pretty much like driving a car. Dont turn too fast it will flip, etc.

Hire a captain to go with it. It would be much more fun for you to enjoy the party with everyone. Especially if you've never driven a boat before. Handling it with a bachelor party will be stressful.

You should seriously look into a boaters safety course if you have no experience boating.

Remember the life jacket rule of thumb is 1 pfd for every 3 passengers. Just an FYI in case water fuzz pulls up.
