That's how the rule of law was established in this country. This country was founded on Judeo-Christian principles, thus many of our laws are based on Commandments in the Bible. Like it or not, that is how this country was founded.

Do you propose we suspend laws in this country? What separates a society without the rule of law? Without laws we devolve into animals, and thus end civilization. Man needs laws to guide them in the right direction. We are lucky, IMO, to be founded on Judeo-Christian principles as our base laws to elevate America into a more civil country.

I'm not sure I follow your argument. How is it different than teaching a kid that not believing in jesus could result in him being subjected to torture for all of eternity. How is ruling through fear less damning?

Unless I'm missing your point. It just appears that by leading your kids along a path that doesn't involve fairy tails will somehow negatively effect those around him. As if they will somehow berate or tease those who don't believe in stana. That's just crazy.

Besides, it's not like Santa is a daily reminder every time you see some blowhard with their crucifix hanging outside of their shirt that goes out of their way to tell you about their Lord Savior, Jesus Christ and let you know when they do something good for other people as if it's one more notch on their ticket to Heaven. I didn't want to do it or at least make it a very small thing like the Easter Bunny but my wife insisted on going full-out. We both now agree that it is nothing but a pain in the neck and wish we had gone with little santa instead of the larger than life version. We've started to scale back but my advice is to use Santa but only as a small part of Christmas. The ruse takes a lot of work when you could just enjoy Christmas

Lol you can't just say here is my argument but I can't debate and run back to work clown. Maybe you should have gotten a cushy job where you can relax on this wonderful holiday week.

This country was founded on laws based on religious morality. We need to move away from that. Some counties and cities are dry, why, because religious people don't want alcohol in them so they manipulate the government against the populace. The biggest problem with religious people is that if there is something they seem bad or wrong, instead of simply just not doing that thing, they feel they must shield all of society from it.

A lot of Christians could benefit from worrying about themselves more.

Let me be clear..even though I do not actually know you, I have enough respect for you to think you dont ACTUALLY believe this.

Why? Because you're here on a message board rather than forcibly trying to stop the murder of babies. I say that knowing myself well enough to know that if down the street there was a building in which I believed there were people willfully murdering babies, I'd sure as shite do everything in my power...and that means everything...to try and stop them.

So...you're either being hyperbolic when you use the term "murdering babies" or you're a person who actually believes that but cares far more about your own well being than that of the countless murdered babies to do anything of actual worth in terms of stoppping it from happening. It would be like KNOWING there was a building in which kids were being tortured or women raped...and do nothing but stand outside holding a sign because to engage would be placing yourself in harm's way...

I'm going to go with the first option. I honestly can not imagine anyone who would actually believe that and not feel completely compelled to do everything in their power to stop it from happening.

I respect it, You believe in an omnipotent being that dictates your eternity, you better be dedicated. That's why I don't get most Christians. How can you believe and not be completely dedicated. I guess those are just my convictions. I feel I would have to live a life of ministry, and giving away my possessions

I don't necessarily think choosing not to do Santa is bad it its own, but it seems like many parents who choose not to do Santa do it because they want the recognition themselves.
