They're not quite that bad, when these first came out I was actually surprised that they start in the low $70k range and went up to about the mid $80k mark.

Crap, only dealer is in Houston, if you need a repair you either have to drive it there or if they really like you they will drive you a rental car. I went without mine for 4 months and sold it, bought a LX600.

Yep.
Love it. Have had it three years and has only been in the shop for oil changes. Have to go to the dealer for the first service because they do so inspections on the gears abd such.
Other than that you can get warranty work done wherever you like.
It is a quirky car. The steering concern with self centering is easily fixable and the new models apparently don't have the issue. The newer ones have a lot quieter power steering pump as well.

That's a nice looking truck but I'm not remotely in the market. They're going to have to pry my Tundra and 4Runner from my cold dead hands. Both are paid for, stone cold reliable, and do everything I ask of them without complaint.

I drove one when i was looking for a new car and i wasn't a fan. The steering is pretty bad and it felt heavy and slow. I also wasn't a fan of the seat positioning, it felt similar to the GX which i also didn't like. I was deciding between the Grenadier, Braptor, LX OT, and Defender.

I assume anyone who can work on a BMW B58 can work on the engine, and the tranny is a ZF 8 speed. Not exactly exotic as long as the control modules are BMW.

Yeah, almost everything is sourced from major suppliers so now that production has caught up parts are pretty available.

It uses parts from at least 3 manufacturers. BMW engine that gets like 15 MPG city and highway. It is built to do offroad shite that no one does. Looks cool but seems impractical.

I see a lot of them when I'm in Houston. I think the steering was crap on the initial launch models but I'm pretty sure they have fixed it since then.

Unless you mean parts manufacturers like Brembo, ZF, Carrero or Recaro

It does slightly better. I usually get 18 or so and can get 20/21 if I keep it under 80 mph.
