The threads I saw track all the way back to 2010 and 2016. My Dr just wrote me this for fatigue and just general productivity at work. As usual, the /r reviews are a bit all over the place
I have seen a number of posts saying to take it sparingly, not an everyday med. That it’s usefulness wears off fairly quickly with everyday use. Which im not sure if im down for. Im not sure if every morning that I walk in the office I ponder whether im having a “modanifil day” or not
Hopefully there are some positive reviews in here

Google says it’s for severe daytime sleepiness like people with sleep apnea. Why are you taking it for some general fatigue and being unproductive at work? Sounds like your doc just didn’t want to prescribe you vivance like everyone else

Didn’t like it. Made me angry and very irritated.
Also makes your piss reek

Basically. I took ADD meds from around 12 till late 20s and despised the side effects. Particularly when I went from Ritalin > Adderall. But yeah most of it is daytime fatigue and focus. Its not at some critical level but my Dr spoke well of it
Never heard of Vivance before. Is it in the same family of meds?

No. I don’t do drugs.
What’s your diet, exercise routine like? Do you like your job or do you have to take drugs instead of making a change?
Are you actually feeling fatigue or just used to the high you got from the other drugs your drug dealer got you addicted to?

You’re 49 and talk like you’re 14.

How old are you? Are you fat? Low t? Is this the first thing the doctor has reccomended for fatigue? How much are you sleeping?

Typically prescribed for narcolepsy

Long time lurker here, and since this is a very specific question I figure I would break my silence to be helpful.
I have narcolepsy type 2 as well as sleep apnea. My doctor prescribed modafinil to treat the narcolepsy, and it helped for a short time, but then the fatigue started to return. He just changed my prescription to Armodafinil, which is the more concentrated version that lasts longer.
The only bitch about Armodafinil is that no pharmacies typically keep it in stock, but CVS was able to get it for me within a couple days.
Best of luck with whatever you find that may work for you.

53
Not really. 6’2 and 215
Slightly low, not terrible. I take weekly T shots but it’s low dose
Yes it’s the first recommendation since I started the shots about a year ago
I get at least 8-9hrs every night but it’s very low quality sleep I’ll admit. Extremely restless
Doesn’t help that my 6yr old daughter still randomly climbs in the bed and kicks me in the throat and balls half the night

Diet and exercise sounds like your meds

I had decent results with Sunosi in the past for fatigue, I think it is a similar drug. Ended up using it as needed instead of daily.
I had better results from that than using Adderall type meds.

Younger than you but took enough amphetamines in my life that an entire Central African country could have developed it self if they collectively took the same amount.
I’d try B12 shots before I took meds again. I know you said you stopped in your 20s but for me there was like a 5 year period of just shite fatigue after I quit.

quote:shite worked for me. Kinda like a semi-legal coke without the good feelings. Just awake and alert. I never acquired it through approved channels--there was always some kind of Moda-cat website overseas that would ship it no questions asked. But, circa 2010-2015, I took it probably weekly to stay awake and meet deadlines. Personal record during that time was wake up Sunday morning and went back to bed early AM the following Saturday.

Obviously, it's not a good idea if you have any kind of insomnia. It never caused any kind of other negative side effects--at least not that I know of. Ended up getting a "normal" 8-5 job, and left those pills in my desk. Did take a couple a few years back when I had to make an overnight drive from Miami to BR, but otherwise it messes up my sleep too much to take it regularly.
