I forget which super lib on the poli board had this done and bragged about it, but then a year later posted warnings about the long-term effects he had, but that's relatively common.
This is one of those scenarios where if everything goes right, it's no different, but any slight issue will have exponentially worse long-term effects.

My dentist is raping me on crown work.
Wait 20 years to accuse him. He’ll probably get 30 to life

This was 2015-2016ish, so the border was probably not in the same shape it is now.
Pretty sure Mexico was in a civil war during this time period and it was much more dangerous

My brother (no pics Aggies) had a gold crown done in the Philippines by a civilian dentist in 1970 on a molar. He still has it.
His U.S. dentist deems it quality work.

not third world but i got some dental work done in turkey and havent had any issues and its been like 11 years. It was like 1/4 of the cost of the US and I like the way they went about it better than the US. instead of crows they did inlay and onlay and preserved my original tooth structure. I had never even heard of dentists around here doing that they always seem to want to push a crown.

Find an honest dentist.
My 1st cousin finally retired and I randomly chose the new general dentist and periodontist (retired a year earlier). Either you got unlucky or I got really lucky.
New dentist is not only reasonable but understanding. With my GI issues he said to just call when I can and they will work me in THAT day for some fillings.
The perio has put up with me puking both in the office and in the parking lot, only commenting sympathetically.
Keep looking you will find one. Try the farther out of the city for a more laid back rather than hustling to pay the bills and put on a show type.

A guy that I know through work and who I considered a friend died shortly after returning from discount dental work in Mexico. He was killed by parasites in his bloodstream.
I strongly recommend against it.

I know nothing about dental work south of the border, but my sister had bariatric surgery in Tijuana in June. I was scared for her and worried about her safety.
She told me it was the cleanest hospital she had ever been in, the doctor went to the University of Texas, and she felt safer than she did in New Iberia.
She is doing great, losing weight, not one problem post-surgery, and raves about the quality of care she received. She said she never had such great care in Louisiana.
She had liver problems and knee issues due to the extra weight, along with diabetes. She was very heavy, and her insurance denied her surgery four times. She paid $5000 in Mexico. It included a stay at a Mariott for a week, and food.

Lets hope your dentist doesnt shove 7 triazolam pills down your throat while you are sedated then break a file off in your jawbone.

I know a chick from Romania that does her dental work there when she visits. It’s like 10% of our cost

What are you going to do if you have problems?
Posted on 9/8/23 at 8:23 am to lsu xman
I once had a root canal when I was stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.
Does that count?
