That's the only mask I wear

If I have to wear one to get into a store this is what I wear too. No one else is wearing N95 mask anymore so I am not going to either. I will at least be comfortable.

I know it's not going to stop anything and is pointless. I can't believe those mask Nazis are ok with a cotton mask. Shows how stupid they are.

I have an MBA and am a very strong anti-masker. I'm amazed at how many people believe whatever the TV tells them. Where are all the biohazardous "mask disposal" containers if this thing is so deadly? Where are the guidelines on regularly changing / cleaning your mask? Some baws have been rocking their same disgusting mask for months now. No way that's sanitary or helpful.

You wear a mask because you believe it protects you.
Exercise your right and wear your mask.
I have a right to not wear a mask. Which doesn't affect you, because you wear a mask. Correct?

Worry about your mask, don't worry about mine.

I would really love to understand how anyone with a reasonable education can be so dim on this issue. Please enlighten me. Thanks.

Here you go:

I am not sick and not at risk. I weigh the risks and then make a decision based on my family's well being, which I hold above literally every other person on the planet, as should you. Yours and your family's lives shuold be wayyy more important to you than mine. I should not be held responsible for you or your family's safety, as I am taking care of mine.

Be an adult, have some personal responsibility for your own goddamn life, and make your own choice. Want to wear the mask because you believe whatever the TV says today even though it contradicts what it said yesterday? Be my guest. You cannot compel me to do so however.

Keep on pissing your pants in fear, but don't think you have the right to demand I piss mine as well.

People want easy answers to complex problems. Wearing a mask is something that's easy to do and makes these types of people feel safe.

These same people then demand the government force everyone else to do the same so they continue to feel safe.

It's the result of our society being based on feelings and safety. I honestly don't see mask mandates going anywhere in the foreseeable future because of this.

For the OP, condescending means showing a superior attitude towards others

I'm not an anti masker. I wear one in common areas in the office and in stores/restaraunts. That leads to an average of less than 5 minutes a day in a mask for me.

However, the mask issue is over blown. Masks can certainly assist in reducing the chance for spread in certain situations, but the failure to wear masks is not likely a significant cause of the spread.

The persistence of people over masks on either side of the issue is exhausting.

because arguing over it is what stupid people do. there are merits to both arguments, but I always land on the side of personal liberty.

I just think you have to be a big dumb animal to think a healthy person being forced to wear a mask makes any sense.

You can choose to wear one for extra precaution, due to potential presymotomatic conditions, but don't suddenly get on your high horse of intelligence because you're "following the science." Unless you have been wearing a mask during flu season, in order to "protect those around you," you are simply doing what you're told without a second's worth of critical thought.

Like I've said before, I wear a mask when I go into a business that requires it, but using shame to convince anyone that the way these mandates are written, or how virtue signaling goons wear their bandanas for weeks at a time, make any significant difference, doesn't convince me you're thinking beyond the dumpster you've already jumped into.

Yes, I graduated college.

While true, is most likely completely outweighed by:

quote:

They are worthless because people do not wear them correctly, they do not dispose of them after they leave each store. They touch their mask then touch door handles and everything else.

The minor efficacy of broad based mask wearing is not making up for these short comings combined with people's lack of hygiene because "they are wearing a mask"...
