Who the hell owned the damn gun???

Couldn't agree more. It just amazes me how some people can't think rationally or logically. Blind loyalty at it's finest.

We’ve had guns since forever in this country and these shootings are a recent phenomenon. Perhaps we should be questioning the kids taking psych meds like fricking candy or psychiatrists diagnosing every spoiled little shite as ADHD in order to absolve bad parenting.
Bunch of mentally weak fricks. Kids and parents. Burn it all down.

You can start with the media not doing it's best to make this the "it" thing to do

I know this won’t be popular. But, more screening applied consistently to buy a gun. And a federal tax on firearm and ammunition purchases. Funding goes to research and prevention of mental health.

Yeah it’s sort of become the way to get attention as fricked Jonas that sounds and obviously it’s pretty easy to pull off. If someone wants to cause mayhem it’s fairly easy to do no matter how you chose to go about it.

But it increases their viewers, which means more money for them. They don't care about these kids.

Sheppards figured out how to protect their flocks long ago
Denzel said “to protect the sheep, you gotta catch the wolf, and it takes a wolf to catch a wolf”
Libs will not like it, but you have to fight fire with fire

And how does that stop the Dylan Roof situation, where he used his parents gun? Or how does that stop any of the shootings in Chicago, who have pretty much outlawed guns, and made it very hard to acquire them? Answer = it doesn't.

What in the blue frick will this accomplish other than give worthless politicians more money and power to further erode the constitution?

So what are your views on the mental health suggestion?

I like how these threads skip right to the politics at this point. Nothing about the shooting.

Plus we don’t know much yet

This topic will never be solved. People critique every idea and refuse to entertain it unless it answers every problem by itself.
Newsflash - this is a multifaceted problem and no single solution will work.

do we have any new info about the actual shooting?
like is this a Parkland situation?
or is this one of those "someone shot someone in the parking lot of a school that wasn't really a school shooting" scenario?

then the shooter just starts doing his thing while the kids are lined up at the metal detector.
Then that would be a new phenomenon though, right? As of right now, has any shooter shot their way INTO a school to cause mayhem? Or have they just walked in and picked targets?
Again...first things first. Make it harder to actually do what these guys have done in the past...which is walk in unhindered by any security. If the M.O. then changes, we address the next thing.
Banning the sale of guns...even if you managed to do it RIGHT NOW with 100% efficiency still leaves as many guns on the street in America as people. It does absolutely nothing to address the pressing issue...which is why I question the motivations of those who portray angst about dead kids while advocating solutions which will do nothing to stop them from dying.
