This would be the most logical place to start

Therefore...free mental health.

The problem I see with that is that it seems like you would need the parents to seek out or at least go along with that care, and most parents aren't inclined to believe that their kid is psycho.

The question is, what is different? What has changed that is causing these kids to do this?

School has always been an awful experience for lots of children over the decades, but these shootings are a relatively new occurrence.

Why is that and what has changed?

Answer that question and we can actually progress towards fixing the problem.

Unfortunately, it's a target rich environment that is gun free zone. Remember, those who wish to do ill will don't care about laws.

I absolutely have no problem with stricter gun laws, but I'm also strictly against banning guns. That said, these shootings are clearly more of a mental issue than gun issue. Not real sure of what a realistic solution would entail.

Kind of makes one a tad empathetic to Muslim communities when one of their own commits one of these acts of terror.

Just like us, they can't find an answer to stop these things.

Because that box has been opened and draws national notice.

Columbine and the rise of social media. That's my guess anyway. It seems like attention seeking behavior at an extreme level.

It’s clearly semi-automatic rifles. They were invented over 100 years ago, and pistols are the most common gun used in mass shootings, including school shootings, but be quiet. Enough is enough.

Over the past 20 years?

Columbine was really the start of all this and that was in 1999.

Are you saying that over 20 years school shootings are now the norm?

IMO, we have been focusing on the wrong target. Everyone always chases the guns. That is the focus 100% of the time.

No one appears to be looking at the similarities between these kids.
