An increase in the price of listed homes does not automatically equate to people moving to that metro area "in droves". It's often people who already live there moving to the cool new spot.
keep facts away from that poster... oil and water

Had a golf buddy in Pensacola from Buffalo. Said he looked out window one day and couldn't see sky...all white. That's when he moved South. Did good after he learned to speak language.......

I have a friend from Buffalo and she makes it sound awesome. Lots of old school bars and restaurants, not hipster joints.

A few years ago, I had some work relocation options I was looking into, one of them was an area between Buffalo and Rochester. Honestly, the place looked great. I was looking more at living near the Rochester area than the Buffalo area but that entire region appealed to me.
Youre from South Dakota so it might work out, but that area along the Lake Ontario shore from Buffalo east gets some ridiculous winter storms.
Its underrated in the summer time as its very under populated, but as a full time place to live? No thanks.

Good to see Indianapolis on there. I’ve always thought that city has so much potential to be great.

I don't know about the Buffalo area now or for the remainder of the year but the west coast is on fire!

The city of Birmingham has also dropped in population by 6.6% between 2019 and 2024, supporting the point that it's likely people fleeing the city for the burbs, and there are not, in fact, people moving to the Birmingham area "in droves".

Indianapolis is a nice city. Tons of major sporting events come through there, and it's set up perfectly for it. And of course local pro and college sports teams, better weather than much of the Midwest, a relatively short drive to the west coast of Michigan which is beautiful, large enough airport and centrally located to check out other locales.

I have a friend that lives along the St. Lawrence River (just across from Ottawa) and she absolutely loves it. She lived in NC for several years before moving there. But they also get a couple feet of snow and their area is prepared for it because that’s the norm for them.
Was in Point Vivian on the St. Lawrence a couple summers ago on the 4th of July and it was awesome. Beautiful country from lake Champlain all the way to the St. Lawrence. But not enough to make me brave the winters.

Buffalo is not beyond the taxing, money-grubbing reach of Albany which keeps feeding NYC. Way too much snow compared to the Niagara peninsula across the border.

3 months out of the year the Buffalo region would suck, but the other 9 months the living conditions more than make up for it IMO.

You got destroyed by facts by me and another poster yet your only argument was “yur retarded” and “try buying a house in homewood.”

South Carolina is full. Hopefully the big return to office push slows down the migration south.
