Yeah well, if someone's going to shoot you for being in a "bad area", you'll likely have a bullet hole in you before you know you're in a gunfight.

I'm armed to the teeth but I know my best defense is knowing where to go and where not to go.

Prime example is the young lady from Lafayette at the mall food court and Allie Rice. Neither had a defense.

Is this because there are sooooooooooooooooooo many hidden terrorist cells in our country that might all pop off tomorrow? If so, tune in tomorrow to our latest episode of ___________________

These rallies mean well, but they're usually pointless
if they meant well they would want the violent thugs off the streets.

Yet look at the fb comments - it ain’t their fault!

I find that there are two worlds. The one online, and the one I interact with in person everyday. Thr real world has lots of nice people in it just trying to go about their days. Its easy to ignore the azzholes.

McKay lives on Brookstown Drive

I went to Brookstown Elem for 2nd grade in 1978. We lived in an apartment on Prescott Road and my mom walked me to school every day. Walking to school with no fear of crime was peak Americana.

I wouldn’t drive through that area in a tank in broad daylight now.

“The world has gone mad”
“Everyone is going crazy”
“People are hurting”

I’ve heard these EVERY YEAR of my life. We’re living in the best times in the history of Earth.

70805 used to be a nice zip code. It went to hell in the 80s and never recovered. It really got bad in the 2000s

Statistically, i don’t know if it’s worse the last 12 mos. But i do think there is a notable uptick in “felt” random crime of a brutal nature - women burned to death on the subway, stabbed to death from behind, two women randomly stabbed to death in the middle of the day in Atlanta in the last month, kids attacked by strangers in parking lots.

I’m not sure if it warrants avoidance, but I’m definitely more attuned to the potential of random crazies seeing my wife or child as a target than i was 5 years ago. And I’m not sure that’s irrational (if it is, there is no meaningful cost to being a bit irrational in this instance)
