Too bad emails can’t be forwarded

I have a daughter enrolled in her Junior year LSU. She is involved in Greek life. She told us yesterday that they received something internally (not sure if it was campus police or school admin/sorority, etc...) stating that they now believe 'this may' be related to a gang initiation practice of some sort. I'm assuming getting a clean kill on a girl involved in Greek life or something similar as it was explained to me. The directives from the message she received instructed all girls involved in Greek life to remove any markings or stickers from their cars that would identify them as a campus student or member of any of the sororities.
bullshite

And whatever you do, don’t flash your lights at a car that flashed them at you.
That’s bullshite.
It’s not complicated. Thugs tried to carjack her and murdered her.

Seriously doubt this is what happened but I can believe them selling this load of shite to the girls on campus to try and pretend they are doing something about it.

I'm not in the business of spreading anything.
I'm just relaying what she said was going on around campus currently and that I would ask her who she got that info from.
Very well could be rumors ramping up.
I have no idea and didn't claim to have any idea.
Just relaying what a 20 year old girl told her mother in a thread about a 20 year old girl
Nothing more

That's exactly the business you are in right now

You think a crowded campus means people weren’t leaving LSU? I personally know dozens of girls that left and I’m just one kid that didn’t know many people at the time
You personally know at a minimum of 24 people that quit lsu during this time?
Lol ok man.

70 shots fired on Bluebonnet near the Mall a couple of months ago. Should businesses abandon Bluebonnet too?
Probably.

She couldn't even use her SUV as a defensive weapon because of how she was boxed in
Probably the only way to maybe avoid this situation is to be SUPER vigilant especially at night in the hood. Take a different route to avoid being boxed in, don't stop long for red lights, etc. Sadly, this reminds me of what my father told me about driving a jeep through the villages in Vietnam. You don't stop for ANYTHING.

I am just using logic as to what happened. Thugs saw an easy target and got mad when she tried to get away

I went to lsu when there was a serial killer on the prowl. In tigerland there were armed robberies regularly. It didn’t plummet at all. This isn’t an lsu thing. It’s just not.
LSU is filling its numbers, for now. But they are going deeper and deeper down their lists. They are also still feeling the uptick from the National Championship year, which always boosts applications.
I can name 20 people I know PERSONNALLY that went to LSU but refused to send their kids there due to how shitty Baton Rouge has become. Not to mention the dozens on people on this board saying the same thing.
I sent my kids there and luckily I'm almost done with it. I would not if they were younger and looking at colleges now.
This will catch up to LSU. You combine crime, with the crack down on the Greek system (which is very important to a lot of people, regardless of your personal opinion), and LSU is facing problems in the future.

Y’all need to give credit where it’s due. LSU has done a great job attracting students lately. Fall 2021 was record breaking. Fall 2022 will break that record.
And about $1.3 Billion in private donations were raised for LSU’s Baton Rouge campus since F King Alexander left.
Baton Rouge, like nearly all American cities, is dealing with horrible leadership and a modern democrat platform of being soft on crime. But that doesn’t appear to be keeping LSU from seeing more and more students enrolled. There is even a housing shortage on campus right now.
We need to either recall Broome or pressure her to do her fricking job. I like the suggestion posted in the other thread to have state law changed in a way that allows the state to elect the police chief and DA for the bigger cities. The state gets hit economically when those cities struggle with inept leadership and major crime problems. We can’t afford that.

Where do these people live?

Making it a "gang initiation" humanizes a piece of shite opportunist who murdered someone for a car or a handbag

Gossiping women strike again
Just like their cars being “marked” or a strange man following them in TJ Maxx
Dear Facebook.

Don't skew the stats by where people live. Families smart enough, and had the resources to leave before all this shite were setting their kids up to never come back to the BR shithole.

The business owners in the Mid City area MUST band together and put pressure on the administration to crack down on crime and to solve this murder ASAP.
A whole lot of money and marketing went in to the "revitalization" effort to create a feeling of safety in this area. Once that veneer is completely ripped off, those businesses will absolutely be sunk.
Who will want to invest in Baton Rouge if we allow our criminal element to run rampant? That question goes directly to you, Ms Mayor President of East Baton Rouge Parish.
This is important and needs to happen. People need to understand these are the people that are part of the group that elected the mayor. It's irrelevant to her if a bunch of angry conservatives on a message board, people who were never voting for her anyway, are mad. If people that will/did vote for her and are scratching campaign checks for her start to raise hell that will move the needle.
