If prints or DNA is found, someone is going to jail. Shooter or not, it will be marked as cleared.

That's not going to Quantico.

I don’t even know where to start with this post. Some of you live in alternate universes.

The campus is not a bubble where the time/space continuum doesn’t apply.
LSU is a part of the community and already shares many resources.
The items I listed were just top of mind. But there is no valid reason any of them couldn’t be pursued.
Do you believe local stakeholders are unable to assist municipalities with funding and other resources? This is extremely common and, in fact, often begged for.

Honestly don’t know set up in Louisiana or cities with campuses within city limits.
Do the police working for LSU System have state-wide jurisdiction or does the LSU system have police with jurisdiction on multiple campuses spread across the state?

LSU PD has jurisdiction on all LSU property. However, when a crime originates on LSU property, LSU PD's jurisdiction extends to any area in the state of Louisiana where the investigation may lead.
Sounds like LSU PD can’t get involved unless there is a physical connection to campus

I just saw on Facebook that they’re giving out the “Live Like Allie” wristbands. Any chance they start online orders? I would really like to show my support for this very promising life cut needlessly short.
I’ve been reading this thread for weeks now and am utterly disgusted with the lack of effort and transparency in this case. I’ve already donated. I talk to my niece and nephew about how great LSU is, and hope that the rot in the local BR government and PD can get fired, voted out, shamed into quitting. Whatever.
Houston loves y’all! You baws stay safe.

Not to mention that LSU has more stroke in this city than literally any other entity other than state government. They could and should throw their weight around a little bit.

The question is how far behind is LA in processing the DNA from criminals into the database. States are notorious for being years behind in this regard.
There is a backlog for rape kits....so I'm sure DNA testing is also slow AF. Probably something we need to accelerate, and not just for this case.

That's because they have significantly lowered standards (Test Scored no longer required).
Not sure if it's best ever, but the incoming freshman class has a historically high GPA and ACT score. So they don't seem to be lowering standards. In fact their rating in US news has gotten "more selective" which surprised me.
LSU is doing a lot of things right these days, and they are no doubt benefiting from the 2019 football season being so high profile and awesome...and from proximity to a rapidly growing state like Texas. It helps that the F King Alexander era is gone too.
LSU has brought a lot of housing on campus where it's a little safer and there are more students around. That helps.
Applying pressure on the city to change policy is probably something they should be doing quietly and not in public given how politicized additional police protection can be these days.

Loogaroo I was upvoting the produce stand picture but probably not an appropriate thread to do that (me) not you.

LSU has become test optional, so if it does not benefit you, you do not report it. They are skewing the numbers in their favor, but it is not an honest assessment.

Campus police could take over policing of around the edge of campus. LSU is fricking loaded. Hire a bunch of cops that might not want to work for the shite-hole city.
Nobody wants to patrol The Bottoms. LSUPD Officers don't want to work it and LSU doesn't want the shitstorm if one of their officers smokes some dude in The Bottoms.

Dear Lord,
Please provide clarity to the LEO’s involved in this case to solve this murder, and/or a witness to come forward this week with compelling info to get these thugs off the street. Thank you in advance. Amen!

BRPD needs to just get proactive. There is plenty to work with. Once somebody gets their booty in a pinch, they will sing to get themselves out of going to jail
