Anything sent to Quantico is back by now. Waiting on a Hail Mary that will probably not come or would have come at $10,000. Prepare for a cold case, but I wouldn’t put it past Murphy Paul to just arrest someone, anyone.

Meanwhile the officers at BRPD are talking about a sick out. They say conditions are horrible.

You know the streets know who exactly who did it.

This murder isn’t like others. Somebody knows something and they can’t keep a secret forever.
Whoever knows who killed Allie also knows they are dead as soon as they rat the perp out. No one in the hood can acquire that much money without flaunting it which will lead to their own demise.

A business owner on Government told me Friday that the police were going to businesses looking for information last week.

If an arrest is ever made in this case, it’ll be because BRPD loosely tied it to some random criminal and it will be quietly dismissed by the DA due to lack of evidence after the arrest headlines are blasted everywhere.

What can he actually do to protect students off campus

Potentially the shell casings for analysis of prints.

How can you prove a person was shooting?
The gun that was stolen with the suspect's fingerprints on them?
Fingerprints do not equal the shooter.
I doubt it will lead to anything even if they can get identifiable prints. It's a damn shame.

The point being, is that it’s all part of the investigative process. We don’t know at 100% the gun is stolen, although the likelihood is that it was.
If prints are found on the shell casings at least it will lead to questioning the person as to why their prints would be found on casings involved in the homicide.

This crime is unsolvable
I don’t think the feds would be involved so early if it’s unsolvable. Didn’t they actually come to town? I don’t think they typically do that for ballistics. Honestly, that’s one of the few things that make me hopeful.

Hard to be hopeful with the direction of this investigation. BRPD truly sucks if they waited half a month to canvass businesses around the crime scene for information or potential video evidence.

Well, he has a police force with state-wide jurisdiction, a law school, a criminal justice department, a public-relations apparatus, advertising and journalism schools, and control over the financial engine of Baton Rouge.
He CAN do a lot.
Just off the top of my head:
Campus police could take over policing of around the edge of campus. LSU is fricking loaded. Hire a bunch of cops that might not want to work for the shite-hole city.
Offer the criminal justice department to help analyze crime and policing methods.
Start a PR campaign to warn LSU students about what areas to avoid.
Offer funding or personnel to provide resources to the crime lab.
I could go on and on. But without the desire to make a difference, it doesn’t matter.
