Anyone have a league going that needs another team? Let me know.

I am too. Never played in a dynasty league before.

This shite is so lame.
re: There's a little cut on my cheek! It's bleeding!

I’m HIV positive there’s a rule about stopping the bleeding before the bleeding player can resume playing.

They’re a baseball school…

What will you think when they let in a one loss Boise or IU team over a 3 loss LSU?

Underwood lived less than an hour from Ann Arbor. Havens a Louisiana kid. Why would he do that?
He’s also not nearly as coveted as Underwood. Why would he choose Michigan? We can drop a big enough bag for Haven.

re: Tom Brady was in Underwood’s ear.

Yeah.becace Underwood is looking to become a VC or CEO. This kid is NFL or bust.
And the OP is right. Stallions should be universally shunned from the game.

No, but that looks pretty good at a glance. The author I’m referring to is an older guy. If I remember right, he’s pretty controversial.
re: Bring Prime to BR!

Prime looks good because his players bail out his average coaching. Also, who is their premier win? They got beat by Nebraska handily, they beat ND State by less than a TD, squeaked by Baylor. I guess Utah is their big win, still gave up more than 20.
He’s not an SEC caliber coach, playing an SEC schedule with his current roster he would have a worse record than we currently do.

re: Potential SPOILERS: Thoughts on Landman?
Posted by HTX_Bengal on 11/22/24 at 11:55 am
“What dontcha want?” Hell or High Water nailed it. Watching that scene was like my Grandmother came back to life.
quote:
Thoughts on Landman?
It’s a major exaggeration of the oil field, much like most Hollywood productions. For example, Billy Bob Thornton's character as a landman is a combination of several different jobs, making him more than just a traditional landman. He serves as a negotiator, investigator, debt collector, crisis manager, rig manager, and operations manager—too many roles to reflect a real person in the oil field
Perfect explanation. I worked as a Landman in the Permian for 5/6 years. No one ever kidnapped me and put a bag on my head. They should’ve cast some other actors to do the other jobs. Still would be far from realistic, but would’ve made more sense.

Pretty sure it’s so coaches can keep an eye on everyone. At least that makes more sense than “they’re spoiled”.
re: The team is probably more talented next year but the schedule is brutal
Posted by HTX_Bengal on 11/10/24 at 2:12 pm
That’s really not any more brutal than any other year. Oklahoma is not good.

Who liked the post? Underwood or Carter?
Need help finding a book (fiction)
Posted by HTX_Bengal on 11/1/24 at 7:41 am
I only read the synopsis and the wiki page of the author. This was a while ago.
It follows a man, former military. I believe it was set in a timeline where America had either split or was generally not the same America we know. I remember comparisons to Jack Carr works, even some Punisher comparisons. He crossed the US, I don’t remember what his objective was. But he had interactions with young men, 18-25 or so where he was confused about their vernacular and commented on it. That scene, I believe, was somewhere around Oklahoma.
It was a bleak outlook on the future, not quite apocalyptic but sort of an every man for himself type situation.
It was definitely a series. I don’t know if it is good or not, but it piqued my interest.
Thanks in advance.

It’s kinda cool that both teams haven’t lost since their OOC opener. I’m hoping for a great game.
Also I hate you, Geaux Tigers.

He shouldn’t be, and he won’t be.
Edit. At least not for his comments. He was absolutely correct and everyone besides Texas knows it.

re: Statement about the reversal
Posted by HTX_Bengal on 10/20/24 at 2:31 pm
All the time? Even AFTER they officially announce it and the ball is put in play? I’ve never seen that before.
Exactly. Of course I’ve seen refs pick up flags. We’ve all seen much worse PI calls that we all had to to choke down. I’m not super old, but I’ve never seen the call be made/the team get ready to snap the ball/the refs stop play for non football reasons/and the play just being reversed.
I admittedly do not like Texas and am happy that they lost. But this should get us all upset. It was reminiscent of the Horns time in the B12 where they were handed wins.
Bad precedent.

More like ignoring any rules/explanations of rules at all.
