The 5th gen? You know it's an almost entirely different truck right? Mine has been fantastic.

Tundra for sure. But the Chevy trucks with the Vortec were tanks. The EcoTec bullshite is horrible. Lifter problems and it ain’t cheap. Jury is still out in the new Tundras so I wouldn’t buy one myself until they are out at least 3 years although I can’t see Toytota messing up.

Got a 2020 ram last year used. Main reason was I could get the same truck package as far as bells and whistles 5-6k less than ford or Chevy.

I drive a 2021 1500 Limited and it's the best vehicle I've owned.

I have had 6 F-150s and I will continue to buy them. I never once had a problem with each of the 6 for the lifetime of each truck. I feel that is pretty good odds considering how many people have car trouble in the world.

Same with the Tundra's. Why ruin the best truck design in the game?

Dude they all have some issues, none of them are flawless. I've owned a Ram every year since 2003 spread over 3 model years and never in the shop for anything other than routine maintenance.

I had a 2012 Tundra TSS. Loved it. It was my first full-sized pick-up truck. Loved it until, at 140k miles, and out of warranty, an oil leak was found in the main cam tower seal. They told me it would be about $4k to fix, and they would have to pull the motor, split it apart at the seal, replace the seal, and drop the motor back in. There was no way on earth I was going to pay them $4k to pull my motor with 140k miles, and trust that everything else would be fine. I traded it in on a 2018 Silverado.

I thought I loved the Tundra until I got the Silverado. Everything about the Silverado was better than the Tundra. Smoother ride, better gas mileage, more features, nicer interior, etc. I recently traded that Silverado for another one. A 2023. Not because I had to, but because I just wanted to. And I love this one even more than my 2018. Same trim package, with even more features. I had 130k miles on my 2018, and it had never been to the service department for any issue what so ever.

All that being said, I'm now a Chevy guy. At least until Chevy gives me a reason not to me.

I bought a 2019 Tundra, because I wanted dependability because I keep cars for 10+ years. I only required, crew cab, 4x4, leather interior. I knew a redesign was coming and I wanted the 5.7 w/ 6 speed.

I had a Denali that had all the bells and whistles. It was awesome for the first 5 years, then, the bells and whistles began to fail. I didn't want to go that route again.

If you don't keep trucks for longer than 5 years, I'm not sure it matters.

It's Tundra for me. Had a 2007 with over 300K. Zero mechanical issues. It did have some rust. Traded it in for a 2021 model. Currently at about 8K.
