Wife and I were in a wedding where during send off one of the grooms cousins hiked her leg on a tree and pulled her romper to the side to pee. One of the funniest things I have ever seen to this day. The tree was only 20-30 feet from the line so it was not in anyway hidden

Interest Rate Negotiation

Anyone had any luck haggling with different companies against each other for interest rates for a land loan? Specifically credit unions or local banks?

You are probably thinking of the “Dino bones” version where they leave most of the meat on the bones. This cut they leave most of it with the ribeye so there isn’t a whole lot of meat to them but what’s there is delicious

Yes they are back ribs. Essentially what is left after they cut the ribeye off. $10 at Publix not on sale. It is a “by product cut” so they are essentially throw away. They are not nearly as meaty as your big short ribs but just as flavorful. Used meat church holy gospel overnight in the fridge. 250 for 2 1/2 hours (170 temp) then another hour and a 1/2 wrapped in foil after spritzing a couple times with apple cider vinegar until they were 200 temp

Loan for land purchase only

Looking at buying some land for a future homesite. Probably won’t build for a few years. Located outside Birmingham. Anyone got any recommendations on who to go thru for the loan? I know some places won’t loan you anything without building within a year.

Northwestern Mutual App

Posted by AUVet21 on 4/15/26 at 3:17 pm
I have my disability and life insurance thru Northwestern and so all my accounts are connected thru their app. Their app is awful and always is having trouble keeping my accounts connected and updated. Anyone else have this issue?

Frigidaire fridges

Posted by AUVet21 on 4/10/26 at 8:53 pm
Anyone have any experience with the new ones? My GE went out this morning and according to the tech that came out, Frigidaire is the way to go for a decent price. Specifically the Frigidaire professional French door models
My observations from the highlights: exactly what we needed this year. A big bodied rim protector like Kessler and Cardwell. Seems to have a fairly good footwork which is huge for a big. Also seems to do a great job at keeping the ball high where guards can’t rake down on it. Could be a huge pickup for the next couple years

Refinancing Vehicle

I have started getting notices about refinancing my wife’s car and saving almost 200 a month due to rates dropping. I would assume there is a catch somewhere but never looked into it. Anyone done this or have any experience?

Anybody got a good recipe for Smoked Duck? Picked one up on sale a while back and thinking of smoking it instead of roasting it.

Knife recommendations

Posted by AUVet21 on 3/9/26 at 8:03 pm
My birthday is coming up and I’m looking to get a good knife or knives. My 2 main things I’m looking for is a knife that can debone a smoked chicken or turkey and one that can trim tri tips and bigger cuts after smoking. I realize it’s 2 really different tasks so if you have a good rec for either one I would appreciate it.
I ate 18 in one sitting in high school

My Alma mater got absolutely screwed in this. Gonna have to travel 250 miles to play multiple teams in mobile that are 3 times its size now.
07 ram 1500 that had a governor at 105 that I didn’t know about. Scared the crap out of me and my younger brother when it went off and we thought we blew up the engine.

Yea I wouldn’t be surprised but honestly his draft stock has plummeted this year. Hindsight is always 20/20 but he would have been better off going last year off the momentum of the final 4

My problem with this team is we are very inconsistent and very selfish. We don’t play good defense overall and we don’t pass the ball well at all.
Hall is a good scorer but that’s it.
Pettiford has not stepped up to the plate like we hoped this year.
Murphy hasn’t been enough offense to outweigh his lack of rim protection that we have been used to in years past.
Overton is ok but inconsistent.
Bashir has been JP Pegues 2.0
Magwood and walker haven’t had much of a chance to do anything.
Freeman has been what we expected. Very athletic and raw but could be our best player… next year.
Opurum obviously is out but when he was in was pretty useless.
Jovic and SWA are the only 2 besides Freeman that have been bright spots to me.
We really need Magwood to develop as a true PG to help balance out Pettiford for next year and SWA Freeman and Jovic continue to grow. Walker needs to get bigger and stronger and better defensively.
This year is what it is. A decent team but not gonna make any noise due to huge deficits at major spots.

Book for Rehab

Have a family member that is about to enter rehab for substance abuse and gambling. Anyone have any recs for a book or books I could get them to read while they are there?
