Has anyone asked how long you anticipate keeping the truck - do you replace them every 3 or 4 years or drive them to the wheels fall off? If you replace them often, I’d buy whatever manufacturer and model you like the best; if you drive them until until the wheels fall off, then a Tundra for reliability.
I drive a 05 Tundra Double Cab with 202K miles (bought new by me) with a 4.7 L V-8 and it still averages 17.7 mpg today. Never been in the shop for an engine or transmission problem - wear and tear items, sure, but not the big expenses. No plans to replace it anytime soon. Too damn reliable to replace.

Gotta take my Tundra to the shop on Monday. It's due for a 100k servicing -- it's third such servicing.
I've owned about 20 vehicles so far, none more reliable.

14-21 Tundra
03-06 Silverado
93-96 F150
Current gens, Ram is the nicest truck.

Lol…your mpg isn’t a significant improvement.
I'm 7-8 mpg better than a V8 Tundra in my Ram 1500, not that I'd buy a truck for fuel economy anyway.

I get 20-22 pretty much all the time.
The guys I know who have Tundras get 15-17.
So let’s say my V8 F150 gets 21, and let’s say the Tundra gets 16.
21-16 = 5
5/16 = 31%
I think anything over 20% is substantial.
I can go 700+ miles on 35 gallons.
The Tundra can go 560.
That’s a big difference IMO.

Not when he passes you sitting on the side of the road waiting on AAA

I go back and forth about this as well. I think I'm going previous model Tundra simply for the lack of extra bullshite. I'll sacrifice the terrible gas mileage for something that hopefully won't need to get warranty work for every little electronic thing you touch.

Toyota product. Why people drive anything else is hard to understand.

Have you ever sat in a Toyota?

Yep, but I have never sat on the side of the road in a Toyota.

I think the Silverado is the best buy for full sized trucks now, depending on how decent your local dealer is.
Hearing great things about the 2.7L turbo motor from a reliability standpoint, but I just couldn't bring myself to buy a 4 cylinder full sized truck.
That's what I have in my 2023 Silverado. It has more power than the Ford V6, towing capacity is 9,200lbs, and it has some pep in it. I was surprised this weekend on how quickly it'll get you to passing speed on the interstate without feeling like its really dropping gears to do so. The only thing I tow is a 16ft aluminum boat, and obviously, that will be no problem. Not sure the typical weight of a bumper pull camper, but that would be the only issue if I were to buy a camper in the future.

Then it shouldn't need explained to you.
Btw, what kind of turd vehicles are you driving that leave you on the side of the road all the time?

Because it’s more expensive and feels cheap on the inside. You can get more for your money with other brands, better gas mileage, and a more luxury feel.
A $60k truck should not have cloth seats on the inside. That’s equivalent to buying a $500k house with wire rack shelves in the closets.

I have owned an F150, Silverado, and a Tundra.
Tundra crushes them both.

I really should have taken a pic of the Tundra with the collapsed right front suspension I saw sitting alongside the road a few months back. No, it hadn't hit anything.
Have never seen a Silverado like that...
This forum is comical but normal. Tundra owners come out of the woodwork to shout the praises of their purchase in numbers that would have you think they sell a million a year.
They don't. Not close to the numbers the big 3 sell individually every year.
It's like they have an inferiority complex or something.

Got news for you; Some customers prefer cloth seats.

I recognize that it might take a little more maintenance than the competitors as the miles pile on.
I think this isn’t true.

I was driving and laughing. Not a good time to whip the phone out.
Yes, I know you won't believe my anecdotal evidence. I'm fine with that as I believe next to nothing from you.

"The only drawback to the Tundra is the gas mileage and really, that's not enough of a difference to matter. I will never drive anything but a Tundra again."
This is where I am. Got 200k on a Taco and upgraded to a Tundra in 2016. Hitting 100k on it and love it.![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconcheers.gif)
