Basically it's built like a typical low pressure, center pretty clear with storms distplaced from center but is getting some energy from the warm water under it like a tropical system does.

Has to do with structure and genesis pathway but the weather impacts are basically the same. Alberto will probably transition to tropical over the Gulf. Regardless, the NHC has this designated with "S" on their graphics.
