I'm not saying it is right, nor ok. But it would not be the first time this happened. When I was in high school, if the school found out about fights that happened between students off-campus and outside of school hours, the school would still suspend them. Once, a friend of mine posted a video online of us hanging out drinking on the weekend. On Monday we were all given ISS.
I guess schools have that sort of power. Maybe this sort of thing can be disputed in court. I have no idea.
