Honestly - that seems low for a guy like him.

A house and a couple investment properties California will get you there.

It’s not that they are so much “slanted” as they are woefully outdated. Most of the laws were implemented at a time most wives did not work and their role was generally that of homemaker. That is not the case any longer. And it hasn’t been for a while.

Splitting half the assets is whatever after being married that long, but why is spousal support still a thing in 2024?

His house is for sale. $8.3M
237 days on Zillow
Was previously listed for 8.99M
Wonder how much his car collection is worth? Wonder if the Paul Newman fan boomer audience is shrinking and those who want it know he is going through a divorce and want to use that to their advantage

I have to agree. Hasn’t he been a celebrity for 30+ years now?

Funny the things that stick in ur memory- but i rememeber Carolla years ago saying that his favorite playboy playmate was Patricia Farinelli (sp?) who is also a personal favorite of mine.. and that one of the reasons he married his wife is b/c she was busty and reminded him of Patricia .

Let those amongst us who arent guilty of thinking with the wrong head at times cast the first stone .

Aren’t there law firms who specialize in breaking up prenups?

Yep.

A favorite strategy is to claim the fiancé had no agency to sign the document as she didn’t understand it.

A more nefarious angle is to claim she felt threatened, and “even though it wasn’t explicitly said, I felt signing the document was an ultimatum.”

Many judges will decree it as being signed under duress at that point and thus void.

I don’t know another context where the thought of not getting something you want if you don’t sign a document considered “duress.”

They got married in 2002 and likely decided together that they she would not work.

You can’t decide after you make it big that your wife deserves nothing. Agree on it before you have it.

I feel bad for some your wives that are in here calling her a gold digger.
