We wonder why car insurance is so high. They know insurance will cover it even though they are the one who caused it. Drives me nuts. Yoo see it every time their’s major flooding.

I watched women and men get a running start to enter Pelican Lakes today. Holy crap who taught these people to drive in water?

Attorneys across the state celebrate
Wouldn’t insurance agents celebrate her now higher premium? I don’t see any relevant scenario for an attorney to celebrate this event.

Not the first and surely not the last.

You are assuming they have comprehensive coverage. That is the only coverage which would apply to cover this.

Idk the intersection, but in that car I absolutely agree. It looked to be maybe 2 to even 3 ft deep at most and even a stock pickup would have passed through that... Talking 150-1500 type series and above.

I have a Ford Explorer and I drove through that intersection last year. Of course I also grew up in the country and know how to drive in water. Slow and steady and never hit the brake and know how high your air intake is.

Women just don’t understand about driving in water.Hurricane Rita,my wife drowned her car, later wrecker driver came to pick up her car after the water went down I asked him how many drowned cars he picked up,he replied 14.Then asked how many were women he whispered “all of them”.

Guess the car was not thinking straight today. Hate when that happens.
What was the driver thinking, though?

ETA If you actually drive into the water, it would be paid as a collision claim. If the car is parked and water rises around it, then it would be a comp loss.

I hope the drivers insurer sees this video and denies payment on a claim. Driver is a damn idiot that should be waterboarded

I can remember when kids used to jump from the railroad trestle and swim where that car sank.

you are correct. i'm sure there are some attorneys who handle auto-property damage claims, but i don't know any. there isn't much leeway
Chad was just doing the typical "lawyers ruin everything" stuff that you expect on here

The insurance company I work for handles their claims this way.

Yup. I wouldn’t have tried it with a truck.

Both my son and fiancee had injury claims from severe auto accidents, one involving a drunk driver. They had to get attorneys when they got jacked around by insurance company. The attorneys wouldn't get involved with the auto property damage claim.
Usually, some will only if they have a nice B/I claim with it. But I don't know of 1 attorney that will take on strictly an auto PD claim.

There used to be a depth measurement at that underpass. Is it still there?
I was wondering the same thing. I didn't see it in the video.
