I read it as he replaced the biscuit on his chicken, egg, and cheese with an english muffin. Not that he threw away the chicken, egg, and cheese and just had the muffin.

I’m in good shape, but I just bent over slightly to make a donut shape out of the skin and fat around my belly button to ask my wife if she was hungry.

She said no.

No brosef I got the chicken egg and cheese on an English muffin instead of the biscuit.

The fact that the Rock is obese isn’t the joke in BMI, it’s the fact that women and men are on judged by the same scale that’s the joke.

Go look at a 5’10” 180 lb male next to a 5’10” 180 lb female and tell me which one is the fat arse?

Men (and trans women who for some reason are really good athletes in their respective female sports) will always have a higher bone density and muscle mass.

Men will be over represented in the overweight and obese catagories, and women underrepresented.

Eye test is more accurate, if you look fat - you’re fat.

If we were to go watch the line at Starbucks in the morning, we would probably be sickened by what we see served.

Different strokes for different folks. I agree on the standard American diet being terrible for you.

I originally transitioned to strict vegetarian (without even paying attention to carbs). My weight is fine, my blood pressure is ideal, my labs are good, and I have a lot more energy then I did when I was eating the standard american diet.

Anecdotal, I started intermittent fasting and it did the exact same thing. Lost weight, more energy, better indicators.

They listed him as 6-3 237. He had a doctor checked him out and his health was still good for his age.

My doctor doesn't look at BMI but the general health of a individual. If you have high cholesterol, blood pressure or high blood sugar just as examples then you have problems. Being overweight or obese just increases the CHANCES of that happening. You can be "overweight" and still be healthy.

Seeing shite like this and having been 210 lbs at 6'1 (doesn't sound bad, but it was) just back in July 2018 makes me never want to drink craft beers again. And I really haven't been.. I never don't want to be 6'1 160 lbs... if I lost another 15 lbs I'd be at my 12th grade weight.

a big part of the problem we have is what the average American thinks is “fat” is actually very obese, “a couple extra pounds” is a fatass, etc

I never claimed it wasn't. I clearly said it works for me and others should do what works for them, which could be keto, IF, fricking Weight Watchers for all I care.

I generally don't do well with diets that totally deprive me of foods that I enjoy. I'm not a big sweets eater so sugar has never been a big problem.

When I need to lose a few lbs (like I do now) I try to eat lean meats and more vegetables Sunday through Thursday and sprinkle in some exercise. Then I eat whatever the hell I want on Friday and Saturday. The 5 days on 2 days off method has generally worked for me in the past.

I thought it was going to be hard to quit meat but it wasn't that bad. I was over it in a week and it's not something that even comes to mind when I'm hungry anymore. Cheese was the hardest. You don't realize how omnipresent cheese is in the American diet until you try to stop eating it.

The easiest way to go about it is to start learning how to cook other cuisines. Thai, Vietnamese, Mediterranean, Indian, Mexican, and many others have a lot of plant based dishes that actually taste good. American 'vegan food' is a last resort. And I don't frick with the fake meats at all.

And, again, for the guy who missed it; I'm not recommending the diet to anyone and I'm not making any claims that it's a superior or more effective diet than any others. The best thing about not pressing my diet on others is that I feel no obligation to defend my choice to others either (not talking about you). I'm also not an 'ethical vegan' so I don't give a shite about your leather shoes.
