People in this country eat too much and don’t exercise enough. It’s that simple.

You people are disgusting.

When more than 50% are obese can we all start making fun of the skinny losers?
Posted on 2/28/20 at 5:33 am to RLDSC FAN
I’m obese......30.8
What shall I ever do?!
ETA: to be fair and all BS aside, I am overweight. While I carry my 240 well and maintain a lifting habit, I know I should be 205-210. When I get in the 220s at times, I like the feel but maintaining it is a PIA.

I get trolled pretty hard when I mention that I travel by bike rather than by car whenever possible. I guarantee 90% of the trolls are obese.

So......a road biker.
Uh oh. You’re in trouble and will likely have caused a spin-off thread about douchebag bikers riding in the travel lanes.
And between SoLa and Htown, there are quite a few tubbies.

We frick with xiv because he acts like bikes are a viable method of transportation for most people in Baton Rouge. I think he lives and works in downtown if I'm not mistaken.

Once in a while I see a competitive-looking cyclist on River Road. I’m not interested at all in that level of cyclery. My bike is a piece of shite and I have it so I don’t get fat.

If you don’t have to cross Airline or Choctaw, you can bike it and completely avoid high traffic areas. I get the feel some of y’all think I’m biking up and down Acadian or something, which would be stupid for multiple reasons.
There’s so much more room in Baton Rouge than it seems people realize.
Everybody who isn’t disabled can ride a bike. Most people won’t consider it because they make decisions that make them fat, and riding a bike is the complete opposite of that. God Bless America.

It's true. If you cut our carbs, you are literally producing more glucose in your system & you'll start craving more of what actually makes you fatter, sugar.
Keto is one of the dumbest fad diets I've ever seen take off. People need to see someone with a degree in dietetics if they want a true, healthy diet. Not some instagram nutritionist or "life coach" with no certification.
Keto isn’t dumb. It 100% works for a lot of people. But you are correct in that cutting out carbs completely is dumb. Just cut out refined carbs.
All that to say I’m overweight at 6’0 205. But that’s mostly due to beer and bourbon.

They should have done it by body fat percentage, not BMI. I would like to know what the average American male BF% is.
They should but the BMI is better for lazy fricks evidently

We way over think this. It’s really as simple as limiting sugars, carbs, processed food and exercise regularly.
This guy gets it. It's not difficult. Also, keep your portions down and total calories reasonable. Think about eating as survival, not for pleasure.

It's fine. The percentage of people that work out hard and fall into the overweight and obese level because of their muscle mass is quite low.

Yeah I don't know what he's thinking. The average BF% in the US is probably close to 30% if not higher.
America is fat as frick.

Considering that 10lbs over is "obese" I'm not surprised.
Posted on 2/28/20 at 8:24 am to TH03
Just saying that it's not going to skew the total results very much.

The BMI is trash. Put together by insurance companies (a DR told me this) that want to make money off of listing people as worse off than they are.
Having said that, i am about 220lbs, and should be closer to 200lbs. According to that BMI chart, i should be closer to 170-175lbs......the same weight i trained at swimming in college. I could literally cut off a leg and still never get down to that weight.
The “I identify as thin” comment on pg 1 wins the thread.
