Went there this summer. Stayed downtown in walking distance from China Town. Honestly could've eaten at those restaurants everyday.

I 100% agree with you. Everything was walkable and we put in some mileage and we felt completely safe. If it weren't for having a goal of visiting every state, I would make Boston a yearly travel destination.

We went this past summer and did the same things you described. Felt clean and safe and fun.

I spent a week there also and it was an awesome trip. Did see a rich guy getting out of a fancy car with a Trump hat on and the whole street stopped and stared at him in silence. Like he was an alien. They full on libs though. History trip for sure in that city. I recommend people to visit Boston.

EDIT: Who is our Boston resident Tiger fan on TD that moved there and helped several people like me with recommendations of places to go. He was super helpful.

Hell, there were at least 5 hanging out outside the CVS on Charles St the last time I went.

Boston is great. Lived there for a short time back in the day. I was pushing my wife to stay in Boston but we ended up in NYC.

Boston reminds me a bit of Scandinavia, in that it's a wonderful place that I have zero desire to spend time in. Everyone seems to be smarter, taller, and wealthier than me, and that's fine, but I like them up there and me down here and we really don't have anything we need to do together or talk about. Far happier in Bogalusa. Maybe that's a personality defect, but it's how I feel.

We did a trip to Boston and Provincetown this summer. I had no idea what to expect. We stayed at The Canopy across from the North end. It was great. Ptown was gorgeous but is a homosexual haven so you see a massive influence of gayness. I would still go back to both places. The food and service at restaurants is exceptional

And Hyde Park, Mattapan, Roxbury, Dorchester.... Boston is great but like a lot of cities, one street over can make a huge difference on the type of people you'll encounter.

It stood out to me too. Went to a conference there this year. It felt the most "small townish" of all the big cities I've been to. If I had to live in a city, Boston might be the one.

Go to the Worlds End State Park.

From the end of the trail you can see the Boston skyline in the distance and it's spectacular. My grandpa's ashes are spread there. Tell him what's up for me.

You MUST go eat at Neptune.

Get there 30 minutes before they open, because most nights the line is 1-2 hours long.

It’s one of my all time favorite restaurants.

We went 2 days in a row !

Spent a week there also. Did not see any culture at all. I think 2 total and one was yelling to herself. Boston is 99% white/asian no matter what the stats say.

Glad you enjoyed yourself in our liberal shithole baw. Come back any time.

Considering that left-wing crazies took over an entire intersection the other weekend and burned a cop car makes this quite unironic lol.

this is where a lot of flyover state people’s “New Yorkers/north-easterners look down on us” sentiment comes from

Anywhere in a nice Boston area and going further northeast is uber rich people territory that only like the top 5-10% of Americans can afford.

Hannover Street in the North End may be the greatest collection of restaurants in the world. Plus, you have Modern Bakery there for dessert.

I've spent some time around Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market, wandered through the North End for Italian food, and explored the Seaport area. Everywhere I went felt clean, walkable, and really well-kept.

Some of those brick courtyards and streets are hellacious drunk-checks and must be hell for women in heels (or, they were the last time I was there which was nearly a decade ago).
