Laugh

The dude said he isn't into diet fads and you link him to THE fad, Keto.

Basically it's pretty common sense that fat is good for us by providing slow burning fuel, which is the whole 'secret' to keto. Somehow the public was fooled for like 6 decades.

The controllers paid to demonize 'fat' to distract from what cheap flour and sugar did to the human body.

Keto diet is not recommenced for truly physically active people.

It would be a short-term concept for office-folks who do light workouts.

Identifying with a diet is NOT something truly athletic and fit people generally do.

Counting macro's is very stupid as well.

Good for you. Staying with the program is key. Like you said, it doesn't require special diets - just portion control and discipline.

You'll be down to 450 in no time.

Public was not somehow fooled. The sugar industry bribed government research scientists to public studies identifying fat as the villain when they knew it was sugar.

So that really makes a difference? Why does water help one lose weight.

Drink two glasses of water right before every meal and see if you eat as much (you won’t).. Absent tons of sodium in your diet it really does help. And the more water you drink the less your body craves sugar.

I no longer consume sugary drinks. Now it's Coke Zero and Pepsi Zero. Coffee has always been black.
The only direct sugar I get is from the occasional candy bar or cookie.

Chuckle.

The aim there seems mostly about underwater performance because of the impact on oxygen.

It would surely be formatted as a stop and go diet plan for those guys, not a permanent fixture.

The core elements of Keto should be in most healthy peoples daily routine.

Putting an emphasis on healthy fats, clean protein, and limiting carbs.

Try Keto, you can eat meat and bacon but no carbs.

I eat meat, avocados and cheese

With daily exercise I've lost 16 lbs in 8 weeks and feel great

As the OP basically demonstrated, it isn’t complicated. Eat less and exercise. Eating less also involves eating fewer carbs. Do that consistently and it always works.

I love people that don’t read an article but post it anyways.

as new evidence emerges that their diet could enhance their abilities on the battlefield, especially underwater

If he needed to do a combat dive, he should look at Keto. Since he just needs to fit through a door, maybe more water and exercise is a good idea.

What eating habits did you change?

I’m 40, 6’3” and about 255 pounds. I’m not fat but could stand to lose a few pounds. Also, heart disease runs in the family so I need to start looking out for that. I did cut out soda a few years ago and don’t miss it much.

It’s not just that you’re avoiding empty calories in your drinks (although that’s part of it), it’s like the other people said...if you’re drinking plenty of water, you’re not going to feel like you need to eat as much. You also need water to metabolize fat.
