The K27’s 17.7kWh battery gives it an estimated range of just 100 miles, and the 63MPH top speed makes it a less-than-ideal choice for highway driving

Would be great for my commute to work but that’s about all it would be good for.

Getting a face tattoo would make you more desirable than getting one of these things.

Did they make "As ugly as possible" a design requirement? You could sell the hell out of a 63 mph electric car that looks like a Ferrari (for $12k)

I guess it costs more to bend the sheet metal into shapes that look good.

If you could throw a system that reaches a top speed of 80 into a body similar to this. Looks modern yet not over the top. Gets like 50 miles per gallon and is $13,000-$17,000 and I think it would sell.

That's a little like saying if you could grow and retail Godfather OG at $320 a pound it would sell.

While I don't think the car in question looks good even for a city car a city car is always going to have the upright appliance look. They always prioritize useful interior volume and small footprint over exterior aesthetics. Cars like the Fit, Soul, Cube, Rio, and Bolt are just never going to be svelte due to their intended use case. Plus sexy sheet metal is expensive to produce, this is why you see so many great looking concept cars that lose much of their appeal once the bean-counters and production engineers have their way with them.

This still helps Kandi fare well against many EVs. The “off menu” Tesla Model 3 starts at $35,000 before incentives, for instance, while even a used Fiat 500e might cost more.

No. Not even close.

A Fiat 500e can go 85 miles on a charge, can go 88 mph on the interstate, and can be bought for pennies compared to new with under 30,000 miles.

In fact, here is a 2016 Fiat 500e with 26,000 miles for $5599.

Wife and I were almost killed in 2015 by a drunk driver. With all the drunk/distracted driving that goes on, I'm only buying bigger vehicles, not smaller.

Why are we giving $7500 Rebates benefiting Chinese companies?

It’s a federal tax rebate the purchaser gets for purchasing any electric vehicle.

I assume the batteries will be like my phone battery.

It may go 100 miles on a charge when new but after a few months I bet the distance it can go will decrease significantly and continue to decrease over the life of the car.
