think it stems from feeling rejected as a teen. They never get over that.
This is what yall say about every profession. You a cop, you had self esteem issues and bullied. You a teacher you begging for attention. All of these supposedly stim from being rejected as a teen. yall some thick skulled dumb asses.

That makes sense. Going back and winning the one that crushed the adolescent fantasy of perfection within oneself

90% of all teachers are female, so this sounds about right.

That's because male teachers know they are going to the Big House for a very long time if they get busted.
That and most teenaged girls don’t want to screw a dorky, loser teacher. They’d be terrified to be approached by one, which is why we all implicitly know male-on-female teacher/student relationships are more rapey than not.
Teenaged males stick their schlongs in vacuum cleaners. Of course they’re willing to fool around with a female teacher.
That’s the only rationale explanation I can come up with.

A study published in the Journal of Educational Psychology found that 94% of reported cases of teacher-student sexual misconduct involved female teachers.

Another study by the National Education Association (NEA) found that 67% of reported cases of teacher-student sexual misconduct involved female teachers.
67-94% is a pretty wide range, especially when that (presumably) doesn’t factor in the confidence intervals for each study.
That said, it makes sense to me that female teachers would be overrepresented here. I would think male students are considerably more likely to be willing participants. Also there’s way more stigma attached to a male teacher who sleeps with a student than a female teacher.

There are half as many middle school teachers as HS teachers (~600k compared to 1.1 million)
So weighting properly using only your numbers
64% of secondary teachers are female

I would think male students are considerably more likely to be willing participants.
If a male teacher compliments a girl wrong, he may have to sit out a school year.
fwiw, I was a teacher for a loooooong time

Now we can clearly see this is a problem with FEMALES pedophila.
It's very rarely pedophilia. It's usually 16+ teenagers.

I don’t believe that for a second.
Way higher than that. At least in Alabama.

Now let’s see a comparison of the prison sentences meted out to males vs. females.

When I was in HS none of my teachers were females in their 20s.

Those are some big ole error bars.
Still, it wouldn’t surprise me to find that it’s more frequently female teachers…just look at the way society views female predation vs male predation.
Hell, you could just look at the OT guilty/not guilty threads. Most people don’t see it as the egregious crime that it is when a woman is having sex with one of the minors under her supervision. When it’s a man everyone wants to throw his creepy arse under the jail (rightfully so).
So if you’re a woman and contemplating this, I’m guessing it probably “seems less wrong” in her head versus a male teacher who’s in the same head space and has more “morality hurdles” to get over.
EDIT: lostinbr said this better than I did.

We had one. Within 3 months of her hire, she was hanging out at bars with some of the seniors (back in the early 90's when you could drink at 18)
