Went by to check out the hype that buc-ees has gotten on this board and I had sticker shock at the $8.50 chopped brisket sandwich. I bought one anyway just to try it, and it was okay. Just okay. Maybe worth about half of that price.

I don't get what all the hype is about. Now I will go there if they have the cheapest price on fuel, but beyond that, I am at a bit of a loss as to why it is so beloved.

You are not alone.

Seems more $$$$ and more hype than substance.

I'm glad to know this. I appreciate how they undercut the competition on gas prices, but I guess that is a loss leader and they make most of their money on selling food items and random trinkets.

No, he said it was brisket.

Welcome to inflation. Price sounds about right - those bathrooms don’t clean themselves for free.

It’s a very nice gas station. But it’s still at the end of the day just a gas station.

People who get excited over a gas station are a strange breed.

Nobody going for the $10 sammies, baw

We go for the cheap gas, hundreds of gas pumps, cleanest/safest public place to take a shite on the Interstate in America, and the Beaver Nuggets.

Aren’t too many places you can get a chopped brisket sandwich and a clean crapper for 8.50…

Bucees is gas + clean bathroom. Ignore everything from the front door and the bathroom.

Brisket is expensive everywhere even that shitty BBQ franchise Dickey's.

BTW Grab-N-Geaux convenience stores has better brisket than most restaurants. I know they are mostly in the Lake Charles area but I believe they started expanding to the Lafayette area. Check it out when you can.

I just paid damn near $11 for an egg McMuffin combo. I’ll bet it wasn’t as good as your brisket sandwich.

$8.50 for a brisket sandwich is dirt cheap. You realize the price of brisket?

How do you expect a business to make money on a 4.25 chopped brisket sandwich?

2 / 3 bucks of that sandwich price goes to maintain that monster clean bathroom.

I gotta say though those bucees breakfast burritos are ridiculously good.

Briskets are sold for less than $40 at Rouses.

I have been told the average ticket (not including gas) averages about 80 dollars. There is a reason they don't go public, too much profit.

Maybe expensive but where else can I buy gas, cherry sours, and a sign for our kitchen that says “Bless this Mess.” That’s America, son.
