We’re still in this because people like you won’t do their part and wear a mask. It’s not that big of a deal.

Please tell me how delaying people from getting it (theoretically) speeds this up?

Perhaps a poor word choice on your part, but it doesn't target any specific group. Anyone and everyone is at risk of contracting the virus. It does disproportionately affect certain people differently, and often times more severely.

I know more people who have gotten COVID in the past 6 months than I do people who have committed suicide in the past 15 years, so now what?

What the frick are we doing? We need to quit pretending that we are in a pandemic and realize that all of our problems are due to an overzealous reaction to a minor epidemic. Heaven help us if we ever have a real pandemic because this trial run has been a disaster.

Thank God I'm not the only one who thinks this.

Not sure why you're getting downvoted...the longer this goes on, the more peoples attitude will be flippant about the "next big pandemic", and we absolutely will end up in a state where we don't listen to our governments because all we know is their lies of the past.

I know you’re making a point that this guy is an extreme outlier as most people do not know 3 people who committed suicide in their entire life, but you should probably compare people who died from covid to suicides than those who just caught it.

I think your "clever" quip actually proves his/her point.

Considering the space program has a higher fatality rate /per astronaut than covid but we still launched

My grandad died of COVID... but he got it while going into the hospital for an inflamed intestine.... and he was 95.

People should take precautions but I do think they are greatly over reacting

Congrats. I had a cousin and a co-worker pass away from COVID. One in their 50's and one in their 60's.

3 people that have killed themselves in the last 7 months? That’s outrageous.

You know 35 people that have died of covid or you know of 35 people that have died? Because you claiming to personally know 35 people who have died from covid strains believability.

I don't know anyone personally that's been hospitalized but the wife and I both came down with it a few weeks ago.

Viral load seems to matter with Covid. Not ever sick person gets the same exposure to the virus, so they have varying degrees of severity. Also, women seem to handle this better for some reason.

I wouldn't discount the seriousness of this virus especially among older, unfit people. It may not hit younger people (even fat ones like you mentioned) very hard, but the over 60 crowd should continue to be "socially distant" while the rest of us get back to normal.

I'm youngish, had it and luckily only had mild symptoms for a few days. We just had a friend who is 30 and healthy get it and have to go to the hospital twice for breathing issues. Covid seems to have no rhyme or reason at times in who it hits hard.

I mean it targets elderly and people with other major health issues as far as hospitalizations

Healthy people of all ages are largely unaffected by this and rarely get more than mild symptoms.
