And you know of so many people that have been hospitalized that you lost count? Damn man.

I guess this is a barbell curve of occurrences

I don’t know anyone who’s been hospitalized or died, either. Only two people I know who’ve had it are my wife’s cousin who lives in CA (who I’ve never met) and a guy I used to work with several years back when I lived in GA. Both had extremely mild cases and are doing better now.

Lots of friends laid off or took pay cuts, though. Some struggling to make ends meet.

My aunt went to the hospital and we had a family friend go to the hospital, but they were both in their late 50s. Everyone close to my age that’s had COVID has said it’s basically nothing.

We introduced like 20% of our previous total circulated capital into our economy in six months in response to COVID and blew up the existing economic infrastructure at the same time. The economic fallout in the form of rampant stagflation hasn’t even begun to be felt.

We are a society of bubbles right now in an unsteady equilibrium. Student loans are a bubble, the stock market is the only entity showing signs of the inflation that I think is coming, and real estate is probably teetering on being a bubble once interest rates go up and active foreclosures get processed.

At this point I just hope for all our sake that the dollar maintains its status as the reserve currency of the world, because I think the entire idea of a fiat currency is put into jeopardy when the money printers go too hard and we stand to lose so much if that happens.

11 downvotes because I’m lucky enough not to know anyone who has been hospitalized or died from COVID-19. Some of you wishcasters are sadistic.

Saying “socialized medicine” is just as lazy as just throwing out “Sweden”...

Plenty of nations with socialized healthcare systems got bent over the barrel early with COVID. As time went on, the case fatality rate dropped because everyone learned how to better treat the symptoms.

People have gotten unbelievably irrational and read into every sentence looking for nefarious intent.

know a lot of people who’ve taken pay cuts, seen their nest eggs disappear, seen their benefits slashed, or been in fear of losing their job.

Hope it was worth it ...

I don't know anyone who was hospitalized either. I know about 4-5 people that had the Rona.

We’re still in this because people like you won’t do their part and wear a mask. It’s not that big of a deal.

FWIW, I’ve made a fortune swing trading through all this so hoping it lasts longer.

I’ve known about 40-50 positives, 5 hospitalizations, and 3 deaths (one which was pretty shocking - early 30s)
